To the Anaheim City Council,
As 3rd generation resident of the city of Anaheim, now living in Anaheim Hills for the past 26 years I cannot be silent when
I see the disregard this city council has for us residents of the Hills. This Deer Canyon project has absolutely nothing that
would enhance or improve living in this area. Isn't the job of those in charge of this city to protect the citizens and make
living better for our community?
The traffic situation on every through street , Santa Ana Canyon, Imperial Hwy, Serrano, La Palma, and some
neighborhood streets is so congested every single day of the week that it is making local driving impossible during rush
hour. Our streets are now just a throughfare from other parts of the county to the 92 frwy. Something has to be done!!!!!
To add 1000 more cars to this mess is unthinkable!!!
We barely survived the last fire 7 years ago trying to get out of Hidden Canyon and across the freeway to Yorba linda, and
it took 2 hours for our daughter to get out of the area. I don't want to imagine what would happen with 1000 more cars
added to that horrific day.
A modern huge LA style apartment complex on SA Canyon will be an eyesore, not a beautiful addition like the developer
has described. I attended the planning commission meeting and it sounds to me that they are buying their way in to this
city. Giving millions of dollars for maybe "your" pet projects??? One the commissioners sounded as if the only reason he
voted yes was because they would pay for access to Deer Canyon Park? Who the hell cares about this little park's
access and if it is such a problem, shouldn't the city improve the access?
This project should not pass ever!!! It doesn't fit into the landscape and ambiance of Anaheim Hills, it will cause more
congestion on an already impossible street, and heaven forbid we have another bad fire, only more danger for everyone
trying to get out of the area .
Seriously, there are no good reasons to approve this development. I have never heard one that makes any sense
whatsoever .
VOTE NO
