October 29, 2024 Re: City Council Meeting 10/29/24 Dear City Council members, I want you to think back to those that came before you. No, not recent past, but back to the 70s and before. Please honor and respect the council members that came before you and had the foresight to put together a master plan for the community of East Anaheim. Serious thought was given to zoning, land use, open space, the scenic corridor, wildlife and tree preservation. I stand in opposition to changing the zoning that was put in place. The zoning was initially approved for a reason. Canyons are slivers of property that do not support multiple ingress and egress roads. Therefore, the present home density zoning reflects this unique feature. To change the zoning and allow higher density building does not make sense. Canyons are beautiful, but they are also fragile. There have been landslides, earth movement, flooding, and wildfires. We are losing the habitat for the wildlife that calls this area home. How many deer have you seen recently? Sadly, very few, if any. Will you willingly go down in Anaheim’s history as one that helped to preserve our open spaces, or one that destroyed East Anaheim? Sincerely, Helen Ramsay 1
