The fire in 1982 burned down to our backyard fence; however, we were able to evacuate expediently traveling down Canyon Rim and Fairmont to Santa Ana Canyon Rd. The evacua?on situa?on during the 2017 fire was a completely different story. Because of the increased number of houses that have been built in the area, the extension of Serrano Street to Weir Canyon, and the cars that drive through Anaheim Hills to reach the IE and beyond using Serrano and Santa Ana Canyon roads, all streets were facing gridlock. The fire was burning less than 1/4 mile from my home, and it took me and my grandchildren over 1 1/5 hours to get to a safe loca?on. Santa Ana Canyon Rd was impassable. I was petrified, needless to say. Please consider my safety concerns and those of the fire department, the police department, and all other residents of East Anaheim when you make a decision to build this Deer Canyon project. Please reply to me that you’ve received and read this message. Claudia Egkan Sent from my iPhone Sent from my iPhone 1
