Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and are expecting the message. Members of the Anaheim City Council, Seldom, if ever, do I venture into the world of community politics, preferring instead to leave that type of governess to those better qualified than myself. However, in this instance I'm beginning to wonder if those involved in the decision-making process of whether or not to approve the Deer Canyon development possess the necessary qualifications either, most important of which would be the "common sense" qualification... My wife and I have lived in Anaheim Hills since 1972, and in our present home for over 33 years, so I am extremely familiar with the growth our community has experience, and the difficulties that growth has sometimes brought. In recent years the development has slowed for two reasons: A) The availability of land to develop, and B) more importantly to existing residents, the inability of our road system to handle any additional traffic. If you haven't yet traveled down Serrano Ave. and onto Weir Canyon road during the week at around 3:00 PM through 6:00 PM, you haven't experienced the joy of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic as HUNDREDS of cars attempt to make their way to the 91 Freeway. Negotiating the traffic light at the intersection of Serrano and Weir Canyon Roads., and again at Weir Canyon and Santa Ana Canyon Roads, would be an experience you wouldn't long forget. Add to that the additional cars that are anticipated from such a development as Deer Canyon and you have nothing but chaos and gridlock twice a day. What would possess someone to feel that is a good idea is beyond reason.. If the ultimate decision on whether or not this project is approved rests on your collective shoulders, I would implore you to give very careful consideration to such a decision, because with the vast majority of our community being 100% against this additional burden on our neighborhoods, I have to believe there would be a recall effort to have those who voted in favor of this development removed 1 from office, and I would be front-and-center with that effort, both as a volunteer and financial supporter... Sincerely, Mike Jacobs Anaheim Hills 2
