While I recognize the state housing requirements, I believe this particular project poses significant risks to our community and the environment that cannot be overlooked. Firstly, the increase in traffic and population density resulting from the project will exacerbate existing infrastructure challenges. Our roads are already strained, and adding more vehicles will lead to congestion, increased pollution, and safety hazards for residents and wildlife alike. Evacuation will be nearly impossible with our roads and the 91 freeway. Moreover, the proposed project threatens the delicate ecosystem of Deer Canyon. This area is home to diverse wildlife and unique plant species that contribute to our region's biodiversity. Disruption of their habitat could lead to irreversible damage and the loss of these natural resources. Additionally, I am concerned about the long-term effects on our community's quality of life. Anaheim Hills is a suburb of Anaheim. The charm and tranquility are essential to our identity, and the proposed development could undermine the very qualities that make our community special. I choose to drive about an hour each way to work, to live in this charming community. Adding the two proposed apartment complexes and the traffic will make it feel like a city. I urge you to reconsider the Deer Canyon Project and prioritize sustainable development that respects both our community and the environment. Thank you for considering my perspective on this important issue. I can already think of better places for a development like this one that is not in West Anaheim. Sincerely, Kerilyn Counter Resident of Anaheim Hills, CA 92807 1
