I live on the east end of Anaheim Hills at the top of Weir Canyon. Traffic has gotten horrific to say the least. It has gotten progressively worse and worse every year, primarily due to people taking back routes to cut onto the 91 fwy (Using Serrano and Santa Ana Canyon, and cutting through to get on at Weir Canyon rather than taking the 91 fwy from wherever they were). I have to "commit" to going home and not leaving again in the afternoon because the backup is so bad trying to get back down Weir Canyon to go to the grocery store or anywhere. In regards to the Deer Canyon Project, we have NO MORE ROOM for more people or cars AT ALL. Adding more housing would be a disaster to our community and would be a hazard in the sense that we could get trapped and not have a way out when we need to evacuate again. When we had to be evacuated in 2017, it was a disaster then (cars stopped, surrounded by smoke, wondering whether or not we would get out and wondering if our houses were burning down behind us), and traffic is 10 times worse now. The reality of it is that we live in a severe fire hazard zone and the city needs to protect the residents the best they can (and that is what we elect them to do), and by adding more housing and more cars the city is welcoming a serious threat to the safety of its residents in the event (and not IF, but WHEN) we have another severe fire. Shame on the city for looking for financial gain and not overall well being of its residents. Our family and neighbors strongly OPPOSE the Deer Canyon project and an additional housing being added to our local community Tiffany Mueller 1 ATTENTION: Cybercrime and online fraud are on the rise.
