RESOLUTION NO. 3658
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND D~TERMINING THAT A
CHANGE OF ZONE IS NECESSARY IN CERTAIN AREAS
OF THE CITY AND THAT ARTICLE IX, CHAPTER 2, OF
THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE SHOULD BE AMENDED
TO ACCOMPLISH SAID CHANGE OF ZONE

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim
has heretofore duly passed and adopted a resolution declaring its
intention to change the boundaries of the zone or zones hereinafter
mentioned and described and did fix a time and place for the holding
of a public hearing thereon in the manner and as prescribed in
Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code, and did duly
hold and conduct two public hearings to consider such proposed
change of zone or zones and did receive evidence and reports from
persons interested therein; and
WHEREAS, within a period of forty (40) days following the
final hearing thereon, the Planning Commission did duly announce
by formal resolution its findings of facts and declare its outnions
and reasons for recommending an amendment to said Article IX,
Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code to effect the proposed
changes of the boundaries of the zone hereinafter mentioned and
described; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of the report and reoommendation of
the City Planning Commission, the City Council did thereupon fix the
15th day of ~any&pY , 195~, as the time and the
Counoil Chambers n the City Hall of tlieCity of Anaheim as the place
for a public hearing upon said proposed change of zone and did give
notice thereof in the manner and as provided in said Article IX,
Ohapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public hearing,
the City Council did dUly hold and conduct such public hearing and
did give all persons interested therein an opportunity to be heard
and did receive evidence and reports and did thereupon consider the
recommendations of the City Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Oity Council does find and determine that the
property and area proposed to be changed from the zone in which it
is now situated to a different zone as hereinafter set forth, is
more suitable tor the zone or zones to which it is proposed to
change said property and area and that the inclusion of said prop-
erty and area in such new zone or zones will increase the value of
said property and area and will not depreciate the values of prop-
erty in adjoining zones.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Counoil of the
City of Anaheim that all of the property and area situated in the
City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, described
as follows, to wit:
That portion of Lot 26 of Anaheim axtension, in the City
of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, as shown
on a map of survey made by William Hamel and filed in the
office of the county recorder of Los Angeles County, California,
a copy of which is shown in Book 3, nage 163 et seq., entitled
nLos Angeles County Maps" records of said Orange County,
described as follows:
Beginnl~; at the northeast corner of said lot, being for the

line of Vermont Avenue" and Los Angeles Street; thence southerly
alonv the center line of Los An0eles street 173.00 feet; thence
west~rly parallel with the center line of Vermont Avenue 170.00
feet; thence northerly parallel with saia center line of Los
Angeles Street 173.00 feet to said. center line of Vermont Avenue;
thence easterly 170.00 feet to the point of beginning.
EXCEPT the northerly 33.00 feet thereof included in Vermont Avenue.
ALSO EXCEPT the easterly 30.00 feet thereof included in Los Angeles
street.
(Said property is located 8.t the Southwest corner of South
Los Angeles Street and Vermont Avenue. )
be changed froll 0-1, NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL ZONE, to C-), HEAVY
COM~~RCIAL ZONE, subject to the following conditions:
1. That subje~t property be used only for the erection
and operation of a service station.
2. That the owner of subject property deed to the City of
Anaheim a strip of land 20 feet in depth along South
Los Angeles Street for street widening purposes.
3. That all engineering requirements of the City of Anaheim
be complied with as required by the City Engineer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be, and he is
hereby authorized and direeted to prepare and submit to the Oity
Oounoil an amendment to Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Muni-
cipal Code to amend said Anaheim Municipal Code to accomplish the
objeot herein found and determined to be necessary and proper.
