Besides the obvious inconvenience of addi?onal traffic in our area on regular commute days and longer lines for groceries and at entertainment venues in Anaheim Hills, there is a life and property safety issue with this plan. During the mandatory fire evacua?ons in 2017 and 2018 most recently, many residents were unable to safely exit the hills in an orderly fashion due to conges?on and traffic. This development will add many cars to our already congested roads and more lives will be at risk. Addi?onally emergency personnel will be unable to quickly respond to hot spot areas in the event of a fire / mass evacua?on event due to conges?on which will likely lead to unnecessary loss of property as well. As a former fire fighter I know how hard the men and women of Anaheim Fire work to protect our communi?es and this will only make their jobs more difficult and add undue stress in a ?me of crisis. We already saw several homes burned and damaged which upended the lives of many residents during the last round of fires - why risk anymore? Not to men?on the beauty of the area which is hiked and biked by many residents and those opportuni?es will be limited and the addi?onal conges?on will undoubtedly disturb the local wildlife even further. The Deer Canyon development is smack in the heart of a fire area and will cause addi?onal risk to our current ci?zens. No doubt people want to move to Anaheim Hills and our beau?ful area but packing in hundreds of addi?onal residences into the canyon is not responsible and I strongly oppose it.
