My neighbors and myself strongly oppose the consideration of rezoning the property next to Deer Canyon to build a large apartment complex off Santa Ana Canyon Road. Rezoning a nature preserve to accommodate a building that belongs in Downtown Los Angeles or similar is a ridiculous idea. This is a quiet community, and the serenity of Deer Canyon would be lost forever. The impact on the wildlife and the current residents would be monumental. The traffic next to the 91 freeway is already terrible and adding roughly 1500 new residents would ruin our community. Rezoning to appease a developer would be a slap in the face. A massive 7-8 story building with additional homes, and commercial buildings to go with it simply do not belong in Anaheim Hills. Additional impacts to the community include, displacing wildlife, overcrowding the roads, making traffic worse with additional streetlights, impacting current residents’ ability to evacuate in an emergency, taking away water resources from current residents in an already drought-stricken region, and more. I strongly object to rezoning of the proposed construction site and would like to know how I can officially protest the rezoning process and stop the development of this unwanted apartment complex. Please contact me at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your help. I look forward to speaking with you further regarding this. Respectfully, Kyle Scott 1 2
