I don’t want the Salt Deer Canyon project to be approved. The area in question should remain as currently zoned. 498 apartment units is not Anaheim Hills. And I’m more than suspicious about the 40K sf commercial space. Just today I drove around the commercial properties on and around Santa Ana Cyn road and every single one has space available. One sign said up to 20K sf was available. Just adding up the space listed on the signs the available space is well over 40K sf. There is no need for 40K more sf of commercial space. The applicant isn’t asking for commercial space; they’re asking for space they know won’t be leasable and then they’ll come back later to ask to convert that space to even more apartments. I know how this works; I’m a licensed architect and I work with developers all the time. Darren McLain 1
