Good morning Mr. Barriga and the Anaheim City Planning Commission -
My family is an Anaheim housing provider and owns the apartment building on 1758 W.
Sumac Lane, which is next door to the north of the subject storage facility (corner of Humor
Dr & Sumac Lane).
Our family has owned this property for over 40 years.
We are the only building which is directly affected by the storage facility customers/clients
who routinely dump large trash items in and near our dumpster located on Humor Dr.
This dumping also consists of large, bulk item furniture, appliances and mattresses. This
drastically affects our tenants and their ability to use their dumpster for proper disposal of
their trash.
We have contacted the staff at Extra Space Storage many times about the situation and
unfortunately nothing has been done to remedy it.
In fact, my father and I continue to personally witness clients and contractors from Extra
Space Storage dump items at our dumpster.
Extra Space appears to allow commercial business trucks and large recreational vehicles
(RV) to be stored on-site.
Furthermore, we have looked around the Extra Space site and could not locate any trash
dumpster or bins currently serving their clients and customers.
We kindly and respectfully request that the Planning Commission inquire as to how Extra
Space intends to remedy this problem.
Extra Space's Proposal appears to indicate only one (1) trash area, but does that entail
individual containers or a dumpster?
Additionally, if the storage units are doubled from 494 to 871, we kindly ask that the
Commission require Extra Space to provide several trash dumpsters within its facility and
particularly one on the driveway exit, to ensure our tenants' welfare, use and enjoyment are
not affected anymore by this disruption.
We plan on attending tonight's hearing and look forward to hearing how this concern can
be addressed by Extra Space.
If the Commission would like anything further, we would be happy to do so.

Thank you to the Commission and to Extra Space Storage, in advance for your time and
consideration.
Respectfully,
Nico Dourbetas
