1962-1113WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of :Anaheim finds
that by reason of the rapid expansion of the City in area and the
increase in population and the growing demand for water for
present and anticipated future needs, it is desirable to construct
a large water reservoir and water transmission system to inter-
connect said large (approximately 2,500 acre -foot) reservoir with
other reservoir and transmission lines in the present system, to
enable the City Water Department to adequately supply present and
anticipated future demands for water; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to employ an engineer to
render the professional engineering services in connection with
said reservoir and transmission system, and does find and deter-
mine that Boyle Engineering is qualified to render professional
engineering services; and
WHEREAS, Boyle Engineering has submitted a proposal to
the City of Anaheim for rendering said engineering services, and
the City Council finds that said proposal of Boyle Engineering is
fair and reasonable and in the best interest of the City, and
should be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Boyle Engineering, Consulting Engineers,
be and they are hereby employed to furnish professional engineer-
ing services in connection with the preparation of plans and
specifications and supervision of construction of a large (approxi-
mately 2,500 acre -foot) water storage reservoir and water trans-
mission system to serve the easterly portions of the City of
Anaheim, for a total fee equal to 5.5% of the construction cost
of the transmission mains, major storage facility, pressure
regulating stations and appurtenances and 6.8% of the construction
cost of the water treatment plant and appurtenances, plus actual
out -of- pocket costs for all services required to be performed by
others and for blueprinting and mimeographing, all as more par-
ticularly set forth in the proposal submitted by Boyle Engineering.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim enter
into a contract for the engineering services of Boyle Engineering
in substantial conformance with said proposal, and that the Mayor
and City Clerk be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to
execute such contract for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed this 26th
