ACTION TAKEN
1. CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. by Chair
Barnett.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chair Barnett led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None
4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: None
5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Barnett presented the September 12, 2024 minutes to the
Board Members for changes and/or corrections. Board Member Jelensky motioned to approve the
September 12, 2024, minutes, seconded by Board Member Tagaloa, with the correction of adding an
"e" at the end of her first name. Motion was approved with 7 in favor.
6. NEW BUSINESS:
a) Manager Joe Perez provided a brief update on the Anaheim Community Services Foundation
Executive Summary-2024 Need Assessment. He noted that Executive Director, Janice Heckel will
be re -scheduled for March to provide a comprehensive update.
b) Community Services Supervisor Julia Moreno presented an overview of the Anaheim Family
Resource Centers including operational details, locations and the services provided at each center.
7. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS:
a) Chair Barnett opened the floor for informational items. Manager Joe Perez discussed recent
communications from the City Clerk's office. The first item was the required submission of a lobby
form by each board member, and the second was an election ethics notification sent through the
City Clerk's office for informational purposes to all board members.
b) Manager Joe Perez reminded the board of the upcoming Boards & Commissions Appreciation
Dinner, October 15th at the Anaheim Convention Center.
c) Manager Joe Perez also informed the board of toe upcoming community events: the Anaheim Fall
Festival & Parade, on October 26t" and the Day of the Dead celebration on November 1 st
d) Vice Chair Klein made a motion to go dark for November and December. Board member Jelensky
seconded the motion.
e) Manager Joe Perez provided an update, stating that the board would receive agency application for
review in preparation for the meeting on January 9, 2024.
8. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Barnett adjourned the meeting at 6:22 p.m., noting that the next meeting is
scheduled for Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
