Hello,
After his inauguration, President Trump issued an executive order attempting to end birthright
citizenship for some children born in the United States. Birthright citizenship is guaranteed by our
Constitution through the 14th Amendment, which gave citizenship to everyone born in the United
States and helped end slavery. If you are born in America, you are a U.S. citizen. It’s through this
right that so many Americans have been granted citizenship, and by which generations of families—
including yours and mine—became part of this great nation.
President Trump’s executive order gutting birthright citizenship is being challenged in court. As
we consider this important topic in Congress, I want to hear from you.
I WANT YOUR OPINION:
Should Congress continue to protect birthright citizenship?
Yes
No

As I push for Congress to support birthright citizenship, I will keep your thoughts in mind. My job is
to bring your voice to Washington, and I want to continue hearing from you as Congress considers
taking action.
Sincerely,
Rep. Lou Correa
