A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DIRECTING THE FILING AND POSTING
OF PREVAILING RATES OF PER DIEM WAGES PERTAIN-
ING TO PUBLIC WORKS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the .City. of Anaheim
may award contracts for the construction of "public works"
as defined in Section 1720 of the Labor Code; and
WHEREAS, Section 1774 of the Labor Code requires
contractors and subcontractors on public works projects to
pay workmen not less than the prevailing rates of wages; and
WHEREAS, Section 1770 requires the Director of the
Department of Industrial Relations to determine the prevail-
ing rate of per diem wages; and
WHEREAS, the Director has determined the prevailing
rate of per diem wages; and
WHEREAS, all public bodies. are required to either:
(a) specify the prevailing rates of per diem
wages in the call for bids, the bid speci-
fications, and the public works contract
itself; or
(b) refer to copies of the prevailing rate of per
diem wages on file in the office of the
awarding body if a copy of said rates is
posted at each jobsite.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, .that the City
Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby direct the City
Clerk to cause to be filed in the office of the City Clerk
the following schedule of prevailing rates of per diem wages.

In addition to the herein stated hourly wages, fringe
benefit provisions, including but not limited to health and
welfare, foreman premium, vacation, pension, and apprentice
and training allowances, shall be paid as set forth in the
Southern California Master Labor Agreement of July 1877, or
as negotiated by the Local Building and Construction Trades
Crafts.
Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5
of the California Labor Code.
"Services in More Than Two Trades -- When a person
is working in two or more job classifications in
the same period, whether by day or by hour, such
persons shall be paid at the highest rate worked
in any particular pay period. If a person serves
as a foreman supervising more than two (2)
classifications, the rate of pay as a foreman shall
be the highest rate of pay specified for a foreman
supervising any one or more of the job classifica-
tions for which the person serves as foreman.
Unlisted Job Classes -- An employer or interested
party shall request the awarding body to determine
the general prevailing rate of wage for any unlisted
job classification. Unless the request is made prior
to employment, the employee shall receive not less
than the rate specified for the highest paid job
classification listed."
Per diem wages, holidays, and overtime pay for the various
classifications of work shall be in accordance with the
Southern California Master Labor Agreement of July 1977, or as
negotiated by the Local Building and Construction Trades Crafts.

It shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract
is awarded and upon any Subcontractor under him to pay not less
than the said specified rates: of wages to all laborers, workmen,
and mechanics employed by him in the :execution of the contract.
.~-. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public
Works be, and he is hereby, directed to post, or cause to be
posted, a copy of this resolution at each ~obsite.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 14th day of
