Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, California BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT Linda Barnett, Chair Steven Kleine, Vice Chair Adele Lopez Tagaloa Laura Banker-Jelensky Shandra Barrera Steven Douglas Usha Shah January 16, 2025 — 5:30 p.m. STAFF Joe Perez, Human and Neighborhood Services Manager Julia Moreno, Community Services Supervisor Barbara Leggett, Senior Secretary AGENDA ACTION TAKEN 1. CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:31 p.m. by Chair Barnett. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Vice Chair Kleine led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None 4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: Human & Neighborhood Services Manager, Joe Perez, noted Non - Profit Agencies were scheduled to present their proposals for the 2025/26 CDBG Funding Cycle. 5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Barnett presented the January 9, 2025, minutes to the Board Members with one correction; changing the wording of "Tardy" to "Arrived at" next to Board Member Douglas' name. Board Member Tagaloa motioned to approve the minutes, seconded by Board Member Douglas. Motion was approved with all seven board members in favor. 6. NEW BUSINESS: a) FY25/26 CDBG Funding Cycle a. Non -Profit Agency Presentations: The following agencies provided in -person presentations for the Board's funding consideration. • Meals on Wheels OC — Hot Lunch Meal Program • Meals on Wheels OC — Home Delivered Meals • MOMS Orange County — Maternal Child Health Program • Neutral Ground —Youth Gang Prevention (Zoom Presentation) • L.I.F.E. Family Foundation — Independent Learning Program • Anaheim Family YMCA — Swim / Sports and Youth in Government programs • Creative Identity — Arts Program • YWCA of North Orange County — Youth Employment Program • The Priority Center • Dayle McIntosh Center —Youth Connect Program Chair Barnett reminded agency staff of the application requirements when detailing their funding sources and requested this be addressed in next year's application. 7. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Chair Barnett opened the floor for informational items. Manager Joe Perez shared information on the upcoming Youth in Government Day program being hosted by the Community Services Department and scheduled for Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Chair Barnett reminded the Board that they will be discussing funding recommendations at the next meeting. 8. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Barnett adjourned the meeting at 8:34 p.m. and reported the next meeting is scheduled for February 13, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
