A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT2
FURNISHING AND INSTALLING ONE ELECTRICALLY DRIVEN,
SUBMERSIBLE, DEEP WELL TURBINE LINE. SHAFT PUMPING
UNIT INCLUDING CONCRETE BASE AND CHLORINATING TUBE,
IN WELL NO. OF MILLER ST. AND 7,
NORTH OF ANAHEIM ROAD, WORK ORDER NO. 1 1
AND APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS PRO IL
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF% AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, ETC„, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECT
ING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF,
WHEREAS, :pabliee convenience and necessity require the con-
struction and :omp'.:.e t .on of a public improvement in the City of Ana-
heim to tiv:
Furnishing and installing, complete in place, in a good
and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the
specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in
the office of the City Engineer or City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim, one elctrical ly driven, submersible,
deep well, turbine line shaft pumpting unit, including
concrete base and chlorinating tube, in Well No. 28,
located approximately 11)1)1 feet East of Miller Street
and ?5 feet North of the centerline of Anaheim Road,
in the City of Anaheim, together with all appurtenant
work as more particularly set forth in the plans and
specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk
or City Engineer, Work Order No. 1731,.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council. instructed Thornton E. Piersall,
City Eineer�
to prepare detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and speci.f cat.i.ons, and estimates of quantities and costs
and make necessary surveys for the construction of said public im-
provement and
WHEREAS, said Cif En ineer has prepared said detailed de-
signs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for the construc-
tion of said public improvement and has submitted the same to the City
Council. and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment above-mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice
and are ads= quajt ;e to seeve the needs and requirements of the City of
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes
for which they are intended, and that they are adequate for the con
struction of said public improvement and should be approved
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheirn that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings
and specifications for said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be and the same are hereby, approved and adopted as
prepared by said Ci� ty Engineer
The foregoing wage scale and rates are for an eight
hour day, forty hour week, time and one -half for overtime and
double time Sundays and holidays, except as otherwise provided
in the September, 1959 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.8.I.,
E.G.C.A., A.F.L.- C.I :O. Southern California Master Labor Agree-
ment and Supplements, which shall govern for such overtime and
double time pay, and for the wage scale for Foremen not other-
wise listed above. Holidays as herein referred to shall be
deemed to be New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor
Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If any
of the above mentioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanks-
giving Day, falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall be con-
sidered a legal holiday.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime
and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following:
Where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous em-
ployment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's
work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each
week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any
one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 P.M. Friday
and 12 :00 o'clock midnight Saturday night, such work shall be
paid for at the minimum rate of one and one -half (1z) times
the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work
shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basis rate
of wages, except as otherwise provided in the September, 1959
revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A C.I.O.
Southern California Master Labor Agreement and Supplements.
Properly indentured apprentices to any of the trades
listed above may be employed upon such public improvements with
skilled workmen, subject to the provisions of Section 1777.5 of
the Labor Code of the State of California, the wage rates for
such apprentices to be determined as provided in said Section
1777.5.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 12th day of April, 1960.
