Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, California BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT Linda Barnett, Chair Steven Kleine, Vice Chair Adele Lopez Tagaloa Usha Shah Shandra Barrera Steven Douglas ABSENT Laura Banker-Jelensky March 13, 2025 — 5:30 p.m. STAFF Joe Perez, Human and Neighborhood Services Manager Julia Moreno, Community Services Supervisor Barbara Leggett, Senior Secretary AGENDA ACTION TAKEN 1. CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:34 p.m. by Chair Barnett. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chair Barnett led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None 4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: Housing & Community Services Senior Staff Analyst, Linda Ly provided the Board with an update on the status of Federal Funding. She confirmed that financial commitments for the current fiscal year will be paid through June 30, 2025. She added that Federal funding for Fiscal Year 25/26 is still pending. 5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Barnett presented February 13, 2025, meeting minutes for Board Members to review and make any necessary corrections. Vice Chair Kleine motioned to approve the minutes, with Board Member Lopez Tagaloa seconding the motion. The motion was approved with six votes in favor, and Chair Barnett formally accepted the minutes. 6. NEW BUSINESS: a. CDBG Funding Cycle — HS/NS Manager Joe Perez provided an update on the FY25/26 funding cycle. He informed the Board that agency funding notifications have not been formally issued due to pending information needed from the Federal Government regarding the approval of the FY25/26 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. b. Presentation — HS/NS Manager Joe Perez provided the Board with a presentation on the Anaheim Human Services Network (AHSN) that serves as a networking platform for local services agencies in support of youth, families, older adults, and neighborhoods. Joe closed by inviting Board members to share AHSN information forward to anyone who may be interested in participating. 7. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: HS/NS Manager Joe Perez announced that the Anaheim Community Services Department is accepting VolunTEEN applications for the upcoming summer program. He shared that this program offers teens the opportunity to give back to their community while earning service hour credit. Volunteers can participate in various summer programs throughout Anaheim, including Summer Day Camp and Wilderness Survival Camp at Oak Canyon Nature Center, as well as Summer Nights Under the Stars at Pearson Park Amphitheatre. 8. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Barnett adjourned the meeting at 6:06 p.m. and reported the next meeting is scheduled for April 10, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
