A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY mUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AGREEMENT TO BE MADE
AND ENTERED INTO BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AND THE OOUNTY OF ORANGE FOR THE
WIDENING OF BALL ROAD BETWEEN PLACENTIA AVE-
NUE AND LOS ANGELES STREET; AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, considerable traffic congestion presently
exists and is progressively increasing on Bali Road between
Placentia Avenue and Los Angeles Street; and
WHEREAS, large manufacturing facilities are being
completed in the area in the City of Anaheim which will be
adding to the traffic on Ball Road between said Placentia
Avenue and Los Angeles Street; and
WHEREAS, portions of Ball Road are two -lane road-
WHEREAS, in order to relieve existing traffic con-
gestion and in order to facilitate the orderly flow of traffic
on Ball Road, widening of said street to four traffic lanes
will be required; and
WHEREAS, a portion of said Ball Road is in unincor-
porated territory and the relief of traffic congestion re-
quires the cooperation of the City of Anaheim and the County
of Orange; and
WHEREAS, the County and City desire to enter into
an agreement for the widening of Bali Road between Placentia
Avenue and Los Angeles Street, and to specify the proportionate
share of the costs that are to be borne by the City and the
County, as more particularly set forth in the form of agree-
ment this day submitted to the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the agreement this day submitted
to the City Council to be made and entered into by and be-
tween the City of Anaheim and the County of Orange for the
widening of Bali Road between Placentia Avenue and Los Angeles
Street, upon the terms and conditions and for the proportionate
share of the costs as set forth in said agreement, and as here-
inafter set forth, be and the same is hereby approved. That
said terms and conditions and proportionate costs are as follows:
1. The City of Anaheim shall:
(a) Prepare detailed plans, specifications and
estimates for the project.
(b) Have jurisdiction of the construction area
within the unincorporated area of the County,
the same being Ball Road between Placentia
Avenue and a point 675 feet, more or less,
westerly of Placentia Avenue to the city limits
of the City of Anaheim, during the period of
time from commencement of the project until
its completion.

(c) Be designated as contracting and construction
agent for the County and City.
2. The County of Orange shall:
(a) Approve plans and specifications as to design
and construction features affecting the con-
struction of the portion of the project within
the unincorporated area.
(b) At all times during the progress of the con-
struction of the project have access to the
work for the purpose of inspection thereof
and should the County deem any remedial
measures to be necessary, it shall notify the
Engineering Department of the City of Anaheim
thereof.
3. Upon completion of the project the County's share of
the project shall be the actual construction costs
of the project within the unincorporated County ter-
ritory at the time the project is advertised for
bids, the estimate of which is as follows:
Construct 3" AC 245 Tons

the actual costs to be based on contract unit prices.
4. Upon completion of the project the City shall submit
full, true and correct copies of documents, certifi-
cates and itemized bills to the County and the County
shall reimburse the City within thirty (30) days
upon submission of statement of such costs for the
full cost of the construction within the unincorporated
area.
5. The costs of design, survey, construction engineering
and supervision shall be borne by the City.
6. After completion of the project, the jurisdiction
of the unincorporated area shall immediately revest
in the County and the County shall thereafter assume
the cost of maintenance of the unincorporated area
covered by said agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 7th day of March, 1961.
