A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EX-
ECUTION OF A PROJECT ADMINISTRATION AGREEMENT
TO BE MADE AND ENTERED INTO BY THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AND THE COUNTY OF ORANGE FOR THE
WIDENING OF STANTON AVENUE BETWEEN STATE
HIGHWAY 39 AND CRESCENT AVENUE.
Finance
WHEREAS, the present traffic volume and the projected
increase of same on Stanton Avenue necessitate the widening of
said street from two traffic lanes to four between State Highway
39 and Crescent Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Stanton Avenue to the north of said limits
has recently been widened to four traffic lanes; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the section of Stanton Avenue
proposed to be widened is eithin the City of Anaheim and a por-
tion lies within the unincorporated area of the County of Orange;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires that said portion
of Stanton Avenue be widened, and the County is willing to cooper-
ate with the City in said widening of Stanton Avenue, and has
offered to enter into an agreement with the City to the effect
that:
Four lanes, or 48 feet of pavement, will be constructed from
Crescent Avenue southerly to State Highway 39 with an align-
ment that curves to meet the highway perpendicularly. Two
lanes will also be constructed that will extend from said
curve on a direct southerly course to the highway with the
southbound lane cul -de -saced with curbs and gutters. All
shoulders not curbed will be of graded earth. An opening
in the median on State Highway 39 will be constructed com-
plete with a left -turn pocket and curbs and gutters, while
the existing opening will be closed;
and has submitted to the City Council a Project Administration
Agreement to be entered into by and between the City and the
County, setting forth the terms and conditions for said construc-
tion on Stanton Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that the terms
and conditions set forth in said agreement are fair and reason-
able and that said agreement should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the Project Administration Agreement
this day submitted to the City Council by the County of Orange
to be made and entered into by and between the City and the
County of Orange for the widening of Stanton Avenue between
State Highway 39 and Crescent Avenue, in the manner hereinabove
described, and upon the terms and conditions hereinafter set
forth, be and the same is hereby approved.

That said terms and conditions are as follows:
1. County shall:
A. Prepare the detailed plans, specifications, and
estimate for said Project.
B. Have jurisdiction of the construction area within
the City, the same being Stanton Avenue from a
point approximately 1330 feet south of its inter-
section with Crescent Avenue south to Highway 39.
C. Be designated as the contracting and construction
agent for the parties to do and perform all things
necessary in order to construct said Project in
accordance with the plans and specifications in-
cluding material control and inspection of the
construction work; and to execute and deliver all
documents required in connection with the construc-
tion and completion of said Project.
2. City shall:
A. Approve plans and specifications as to design and
construction features affecting the construction
operation and maintenance of that portion to be fin-
anced by the City.
B. Prepare map and deed for all necessary additional
right of way.
C. Make all the necessary arrangements to acquire
the right of way for its portion of the Project
and shall, by appropriate Resolution of the City
Council so certify to the County, prior to the
adoption of the Resolution of the Board of Super-
visors approving the Project plans and specifica-
tions, that such acquisition has been accomplished.
D. At all times during the progress of construction
of said Project have access to the work for the
purpose of inspection thereof and should the City
deem any remedial measures to be necessary, it
shall notify the Road Commissioner of the County
thereof.
3. Upon completion of the Project, any and all roadwork necessary
iii..connection with the Project shall be paid for by the respec-
tive parties on the basis that the City shall pay for the con-
struction of all roadway and curbs and gutters of said Project
within its City Limits and outside of the State of California
right of way and that the County and other parties shall pay
all other costs incurred in the construction of the Project.
4. Upon completion of the Project, County shall submit full,
true, and correct copies of documents, certificates, and
itemized bills to the City, and the City shall reimburse
the County within 30 days upon submission of the statement
of such costs for the full cost of the construction as de-
fined in paragraph 3 hereof.
5. All construction and installation costs shall be based on
the contract unit cost.

6. The cost of design, construction engineering, and any and
all unforeseen contingencies shall be paid for by the party
to whom said costs are directly related.
7. Division of costs for completion of said work shall be based
upon present City County boundaries. If the City should
annex additional lands within the Project area prior to ad-
vertisement for bid for construction of said Project, said
Agreement shall be considered null and void.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute said Agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 28th day of February, 1961.
