A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT TITLE 18 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO ZONING SHOULD BE AMENDED
AND THAT THE BOUNDARIES OF CERTAIN ZONES
SHOULD BE CHANGED.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did hold a public hearing in Reclassification Proceed-
ings No. F- 60-61 -98 to consider an amendment to
Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal Code relating to zoning and
to consider a change in the boundaries of the zone or zones
hereinafter mentioned and described, and at said hearing did
receive evidence and reports from persons interested therein
and from its staff; and
WHEREAS, within a period of forty days following said
hearing thereon, the Planning Commission did duly adopt a resolu-
tion containing a report of its findings, a summary of the evi-
dence presented at said hearing and a recommendation that the
proposed amendment be adopted by the City Council and that cer-
tain zone or zones be changed as hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of said resolution, summary of
evidence, report of findings and recommendation of the City Plan-
ning Commission, the City Council did fix the 16th day of
May 19 61 as the time, and the City Council Cham-
bers in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim as the place for a
public hearing upon said proposed amendment to Title 18 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code, and the exclusion of said property, here-
inafter described, from the zone in which it is now situated and
the incorporation thereof in the zone hereinafter set forth;
and did give notice thereof in the manner and form as provided
in said Title 18 of said Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Council did hold and conduct such public hear-
ing and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity
to be heard and did receive evidence and reports and did there-
upon consider the summary of evidence presented at said public
hearing before the Planning Commission, its report of findings,
and recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
the amendment to Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal Code should
be adopted and that the property hereinafter described should
be excluded from the zone or zones in which it is now situated,
and incorporated in the zone or zones as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal Code
be, and the same is hereby amended, and that the following des-
cribed property, situated in the City of Anaheim, County of
Orange, State of California, to wit:

A strip of land 60 feet in width, measured from
the planned highway right of way line, surrounding
those properties bounded by South Los Angeles
Street on the east, Ball Road on the south,
Lemon Street on the west and Vermont Avenue
on the north, EXCEPTING THEREFROM those properties
contained in Tract No. 3222 located on Lemon Street,
bechanged, in part, from P -L, PARKING LANDSCAPING ZONE, to C -1,
NEIGHBORHOOD- COMMERCIAL ZONE, as hereinafter more particularly
set forth, upon the following conditions:
1. That the existing P -L, PARKING LANDSCAPING ZONE, along
Los Angeles Street between Vermont Avenue and Ball Road
shall be maintained, with the exception that the re-
quired landscaping from the southerly boundary line of
the Tamasha Club parking lot, including the Tamasha Club,
extending northerly to Vermont Avenue, shall be reduced
to a six -foot wide strip abutting the planned highway
right of way line of subwect properties; that the 60-
foot building setback line shall be maintained; and
that street trees shall be provided approximately
every forty feet adjacent to the planned highway right
of way line. The tree requirement shall be deemed to
be complied with if trees are planted in five -foot by
five -foot tree wells located in the parkway portion of
said right of way. All portions of the parkway not
filled in with concrete shall be properly landscaped
in a manner provided for herein.
That the P -L, PARKING LANDSCAPING ZONE, area along Los
Angeles Street, from the southerly boundary line of the
Tamasha Club parking lot extending south rly to Ball
Road shall be changed from P -L, PARKING- LANDSCAPING
ZONE, to C -1, NEIGHB0RH0OD- C011IERCIAL ZONE, upon con-
dition that street trees be provided approximately
every '.•0 feet in the parkway abutting the properties.
2. That the existing P -L, PARKING- IANDSCAPING ZONE, along
Bali Road between Los Angeles 3treet and Lemon Street
shall be maintained, with the exceptions that the re-
quired landscaping shall be reduced to a six -foot wide
strip abutting the planned highway right -of -way line
of subject properties, and that street trees shall be
provided approximately every forty feet ada.cent to
the planned highway right-of-way line. The tree re-
quirement shall be deemed to be complied with if
trees are planted in five -foot by five -foot tree wells
located in the parkway portion of said right -of -way.
All portions of the parkway not filled in with concrete
shall be properly landscaped in a -canner provided for
herein.
3. That the existing P -L, PARKING LANDSCAPING ZONE, along
Lemon Street between Vermont Avenue and Ball Road,
excepting therefrom those properties included in Tract
No. 3222, shall be reduced to fifteen feet in width
parallel to the centerline of Lemon :street and extending
from thirty -two feet to forty -seven feet from the
centerline of Lemon Street; and that the remaining
forty -five feet shall be reclassifed C-1, NEIGHBORHOOD
CONNER CIAL ZONE.

That said fifteen feet classified as P-T, PARKING-
LANDSCAPING ZONE, shall be landscaped except for
access drives and walks, and that said landscaping
shall include street trees, which shall be spaced
approximately every forty feet. The tree require
ment shall be deemed to be complied with if trees
are planted in five -foot by five -foot tree wells
located in the parkway portion of said right -of -way.
All portions of the parkway not filled in with
concrete shall be properly landscaped in a manner
provided for herein.
That the existing P -L, PARKING LANDSCAPING ZONE,
along Vermont Avenue between Los Angeles Street
and Lemon Street shall be reduced to fifteen feet
in width abutting the front property line; and that
the remaining forty -five feet shall be reclassified
C -1, NEIGHBORHOOD-COMMERCIAL ZONE.

5. That plans for all landscaping and water supply,
including the spacing of said trees, shall be sub,;ect
to the approval of the Superintendent of Parkway
Maintenance of the City of Anaheim.
6. That all conditions applicable to properties presently
zoned C -1 abutting subject C -1, NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL
ZONE, properties, and as established by Ordinance No.
894 of the City of Anaheim, adopted May 25, 1954, shall
be applicable to subject C -1, NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL
ZONE, properties.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be, and
he is hereby authorized and directed to prepare and submit to
the City Council an ordinance amending Title 18 of the Anaheim
Municipal Code to accomplish the objects herein found and de-
termined to be necessary and proper.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 6th day of June, 1961.
