A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM GRANTING A VARIANCE. (NO. 588)
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
,-- Anaheim did receive a petition from the property owner__ and/or
Agent of certain real property situated in the City of
Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, described as
follows:
ThE,t portion of Lot 39 of Anaheim Extension, as shown on a
map thereof made by William Hamel and filed for record in the
office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California,
described as follows:
Begin1ing at the Northwesterly comer of said Lot 39; thence
Southerly alons the Westerly line thereof 235 feet more or less;
thence Easterly as measured at right angles from said Westerly
line 257.02 feet; thence Northerly along a line parallel with
said Westerly line of Lot 39 to a point in the Northerly line of
said Lot 39, said point being distant 257 feet, more or lesa,
from the Northwest corner of said Lot 39; thence Westerly 257
feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
.m EXCEPTING therefrom the Northerly 50 feet. ALSO EXCEPTING
therefrom the Westerly 33 feet.
and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a public
hearing at the City Haliuin the City of Anaheim upon said petition
on JU1'l:' 16, 1956 ~" notices of which said public hearings
were duly given as required by law and the provisions of Section
9200.17 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
!vHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, invest-
igation and studies made by itself and in its behalf and after due
consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said hearing,
did adopt its Resolution No. 6 recommending to the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that Variance No. 588 be granted upon the
conditions stated in said resolution; and
WHEREAS, thc City Council does find that:
1. There are exceptional or extraordinary circum-
stances or conditions applicable to the pro~erty in-
volved or to the intended use of the property that
do not apply generally to the property or class of
use in the same vicinity and zone.
2. That such a variance is necessary ror the pre-
servation and enjoyment of a substantial property
right possessed by other property in the same vicinity
and zone and denied to the property in question.
J. That the granting of such variance will not be
materially detrimental to the publiC welfare or in-
jurious to the property or impl~vement8 in such
vicinity and zone in which the property is located.
4. That the granting of such variance will not
adverse11Jaffect the comprehensive general zoning plan.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that a conditional zoning variance be, and the
same is hereby granted toy?TE!\ANS OF :F'OREIGN _WARS __()F THE UNITED STATES
OF AMERICA, Anahei1U,Cal. for the use of said property for the
l61Yow-ing pUrposes: Toderect a one-story masonry building to be used
for offices and Assemby Hall on the hereinabove described property,
upon the following conditions:

1. That the o~mers of subject property deed to the City of
Anaheim a strip of land 20 feet in depth along West La Palma
Avenue and a strip of land 2 feet in depth along North West street
for street widening purposes.
2. That curbs and gutters be installed along both streets
as required by the City Engineer.
~ 3. That improved off-street parking be provided on the property.
The City Council hereby reserves the right to revoke
such variance permit for good cause or failure of said owner
or their heirs, successors or assigns to comply with the Anaheim
Municipal Code and regulations and the conditions herein. Said
variance is granted for the term prescribed by the Anaheim Munici,
pal Code unless otherwise specified herein.
