RESOLUTION NO. 3390
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED FOR THE
RECONSTRUCTION OF THE DRAINAGE STRUCTURE AT
SOUTH AND OLIVE STREETS, JOB NO. 113: DECLARING
THAT THE CONSTRUCT ION THEREOF CAN BE PERFORMED
MJRE ECONOMICALLY BY DAY LABOR, AND THAT MATERIALS
AND SUPPLIES THEREFOR CAN BE FURNISHED AT A LOWER
PRICE IN THE OPEN MARKET: AND AUTHORIZING THE
CONSTRUCTION THEREOF BY DAY LABOR, AND THE PURCHASE
OF MATERiALS AND SUPPLIES THEREFOR IN THE OPEN
MARKET.
WHEREAS, the City Council did, on July 3, 1956, adopt
Resolution No. 3360, finding and determining that public conveni-
ence and necessity required the construction of a public improve-
ment, to wit: the reconstruction of the drainage structure at
South and Olive Streets, Job No. 113, and authorizing the publica-
tion of a notice inviting sealed proposals for said public
improvement; and
WHEREAS, a notice was duly published in the Anaheim
Bulletin on July 9th and 16th, 1956, inviting sealed proposals
for the construction of said public improvement and stating that
said proposals would be received up to the hour of 7:00 o'clock
P.M. on July 24, 1956; and
WHEREAS, on July 24, 1956, the City Clerk did open
all bids received prior to the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. of
said date, and did refer all bids received to the City Engineer
for checking and reporting to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, after checking the bid received, the City
Engineer did report that it was his opinion that said work
could be done more economically by day labor with the purchase
of necessary supplies and materials in the open market, and
did recommend that said bid be rejected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the reconstruction of the drainage
structure at South and Olive Streets, Job No. 113, can be per-
formed more economically by day labor, that materials and supplies
therefor can be purchased at a lower price in the open market
and that all bids for the reconstruction of said drainage
structure be, and the same are hereby, rejected.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer be, and
he is hereby, authorized to purchase all materials and supplies
necessary for the construction of said public improvement in the
open market, and that the construction of said public improvement
be performed by day labor.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 24th day of July, 1956.
