A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETI'T'ION FOR
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY
AS THE MANCHE$TER AND DALE AVENUE ANNEXATION
DESCRIBING
THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND
PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL
PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND
SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE
ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM,

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on
the 26th day of September 19 61 receive a written
petition asking that certain new territory described in said petition
be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the proposal
for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City
of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commission of the County of
Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary
Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the
proposed boundaries; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City
of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California,
and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited territory,
and said petition contained a description of said territory in words
and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described; and
WHEREAS, the City. Council finds from evidence and reports
received that at the time of the filing and receipt of said petition,
it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one- fourth
of the land in the territory by area and by assessed value in the
territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding
equalized county assessment roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and reports
received and from said petition that at the time of the filing and
presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be
annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal
corporation and that said territory was uninhabited and is contiguous
to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows,
to wit:
MANCHESTER AND DALE AVENUE ANNEXATION
That parcel of land located in the County of Orange, State of California, being
that portion of the Northeast quarter of fractional Section 1, Township 4 South,
Range 11 West, S. B. B. M., described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the existing City of Anaheim City limit line, said point
being the Northwest corner of the Delco Remy Annexation to the City of Anaheim,
passed by Ordinance No. 836, February 24, 1953, and filed with the Secretary of
State March 27, 1953, said Northwest corner and point of beginning also being the
intersection of the West line of the East half of the East half of Fractional
Section 1, Township 4 South, Range 11 West, S.B.B. &M., with a line parallel with
the Southwesterly right of way line of Manchester Avenue, said parallel line
being 400.00 feet Southwesterly from the said Southwesterly right of way line of
Manchester Avenue measured at right angles thereto, said parallel line also being
the existing City of Anaheim City limit line as established by the Houston Avenue
Annexation to the City of Anaheim, passed by Ordinance No. 830, January 13, 1953,
and filed with the Secretary of State February 24, 1953; thence
1. North 57° 11' West 1,547 feet, more or less, along the last mentioned existing
City of Anaheim City limit line, as established by the said Houston Avenue Annexa-
tion, being also the last mentioned parallel line, to the intersection with a
line parallel with and 30.00 feet Easterly of the West line of the Northeast
quarter of Fractional Section 1, Township 4 South, Range 11 West, S.B.B. &M., said
point of intersection also being in the existing City of Buena Park City limit
line, as established by the Original Incorporation of the City of Buena Park,
certified by the Secretary of State January 27, 1953; thence
2. South 0° 14' East 603 feet, more or less, along the last mentioned parallel line,
also being the existing City of Buena Park City limit line to the intersection of
the Easterly prolongation of a line parallel with and 10.00 feet Southerly of the
North line of the Southerly 20 acres of the Southeast quarter of the Northwest
quarter of Fractional Section 1, Township 4 South, Range 11 West, S.B.B.

3. South 89° 46° (Nest 10.00 feet along the said Easterly prolongation of said parallel
line, also being the existing Buena Park City limit line, to the point of inter-
section with a line parallel with and 20.00 feet Easterly of the West line of the
Northeast quarter of said Fractional Section l said point of intersection being
in the existing City limit line of the City of Buena Park, as established by the
Dale Street Annexation No. One to the City of Buena Park passed by Ordinance No.
102, December 21, 1954, and filed with the Secretary of State January 24, 1955;
thence
4. South 0° 14° East 1 feet, more or less, along the last mentioned parallel
line, also being the existing City of Buena Park City limit line, to the point
of intersection with the North line of the South half of the Northwest quarter
of the Southeast quarter of said fractional Section 1; thence
5. North 89 37° East 1,307 feet, more or less, along the North line of the South
half of the Northwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of said fractional Section
1, also being the existing City of Buena Park City limit line, to the intersection
with the West line of the East half of the East half of said fractional Section 1,
said point of intersection being in the existing City of Anaheim City limit line,
as established by the Delco Remy Annexation to the City of Anaheim passed by
Ordinance No. 836 February 24, 1953, and filed with the Secretary of State March
27, 1953; thence
6. Leaving the existing City of Buena Park City limit line, North 0° 16' West, 1070
feet, more or less, along the last mentioned West line of the East half of the
East half of said Fractional Section 1 also being the existing City of Anaheim
City limit line, as established by said Delco Remy Annexation, to the point of
beginning.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that such proposed ;annexation be designated as
MANCHESTER AND DALE AVENUE ANNEXATION and that
notice of such proposed annex ti n be hereby given as hereinafter
provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a public hearing shall be had
upon the date set not less than forty Q40) nor more than ixty (60)
days after the p- ssage of this Resoluti n, unless the owner or owner
of all of the territory to be annexed have petitioned for annexation
or filed their consents to such annexation, in writing, with the City
Council, in which event the hearing shall be set at any time after
compliance with Section 353 of the Government C de.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does find
that the owner or owners #f all of the territory proposed to be
annexed have petitioned for annexation or filed their consents
to such annexation, in writing, with the City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the lst day of October
19 61 at the h'ur of 7:00 o °clack P.M., at the City Council
Chamber in the City Hall f the City of Anaheim be and the same is
hereby, fixed as the day, h +cur and pi: wh =n and where the City
Council will hear pretests made by van owner or owners of real
property within the territory proposed to be annexed; and that at any
time before the hour set for hearing objections; any owner of
property within said territory may file with the City Clerk ,r written
protest w gainst the annexation,. Sr= id protest shall be in writing
and shall state the name of the owner of the property ffeoted and
the description r- aid area of the property in general terms.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is
hereby, authorized and directed to oauee a copy of this Resolution
to be published at least twtee, but not oftener than once a week, in
a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to wit:

be completed at lea twenty (20rday prior to the date of hearing
hereinabove specified.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation t be mailed to each
person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed i
assessed, in the last qualized county assessment roll available, on
the date the proceedings were initi<ted, at the .ddress shown n said
assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to any person
who has filed his name and addres and the designati *n of lands in
which he has any interest, either legal *r equitable, with said
Clerk; and in the event that land within the territory proposed to
be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, the City
Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such
proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such
County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty
(20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is PProved and signed by me this
