RESOLUTION NO. 3373
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING A SEALED PROPOSAL
AND AWARDING A CONTRACT TO THE LOWEST RES-
PONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL
PLANT, LABOR, SERVICES, MATERIALS AND EQUIP-
MENT AND ALL UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION,
INCLUDING POWER, FUEL AND WATER, AND PER-
FORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY TO CONSTRUCT AND
COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT:
THE LEWIS STREET SEWER IMPROVEMENT, FROM
BALL ROAD TO A POINT 1,000 FEET SOUTH THEREOF,
JOB NO. 1069.
WHEREAS, the Oity Council of the City of Anaheim did
cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation,
pr1nted, published and oirculated in the City of Anaheim, to
wi": The Anaheim Bulletin, on the 19th&: 26thia3'B of June
19 S6 ,a notioe inviting sealed proposals for furnishing
the following:
All plant, labor, services, materials and equip-
ment, and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work neo-
essary to construct and complete in a good and work-
manlike manner, in strict accordanoe with the speci-
fioations, plans and drawings therefor on file in the
Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the
following public improvement, to wit: The Lewis
Street Sewer Improvement, from Ball Road to a point
1,000 feet south thereof, consisting of the construc-
tion of standard manholes, lO-inch V.C.P. sewer
laterals, remodeling existing manholes, and appurte-
nant work, as indicated on the plans, Job No. 1069.
in aocordanoe with the designs, plans, profiles and specifications
of said public improvement on file in the Office of the City Clerk
of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, said notice inviting sealed proposals for said
publio improvement did prOVide that sealed proposals would be reoeived
by the City Council of the City of Anaheim at the Office of the City
Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to the hour of 7:00 o'olock P.M. on
the lOth day of July, 195~for the furnishing of all
plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and
transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all
work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike
manner, the public improvement hereinabove more particularly mentioned
and described and which notioe did state and declare that pursuant
to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the City Council
of the City of Anaheim had ascertained the prevailing rate of wages
in the locality in which this type of labor is to be performed for
each oraft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the oon-
tract and did set forth the prevailing hourly wage scale so asoertained;
and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did receive
the following eealed proposals prior to 7:00 oiclock P. M. on the
lOth day of July, 195~, in response to the notice
aforesaid inviting sealed proposals, to wit:

WHEREAS, the Oity Oouncil did thereupon refer said bids to
the Oity Engineer for examination, tabulation
and report to the City Council, and said City Engineer
did examine and tabulate said sealed proposals and did report to the
Counoil the result of his examination and tabulation; and
WHEREAS, the City Oouncil finds that the sealed proposal sub-
mitted by PLUMBING CONTRACTORS, INC., SANITARY DIVISIO~,
11662 E. \'lestminster Blvd., Garden Grove, California
is the lowest responsible proposal submitted for the furnishing of all
plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and
transportation, including power, fuel and water ana performing all work
neoessary to construct and complete 1n a good and workmanlike manner
in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings
therefor on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Ana-
heim of the publiC improvement hereinabove mentioned and described,
together with the appurtenanoes thereto, and as specified in the
notioe inviting sealed proposals, and tr~t said proposal of said
above named bidder should be accepted and a contract awarded to said
bidder in accordance therewith; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the above mentioned
sealed proposal is the lowest responsible proposal received and that
the person, firm or corporation submitting said proposal is a
responsible person, firm or corporation and that the proposal sub-
mitted is the best suited and fitted for the public improvement to
be constructed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM, that the sealed proposal submitted by
PLUMBING CON!RACTORS, INC., SANITARY DIVISION
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services. materials and
equipment, all utili ties and transportation, including power, fuel
and water and performing all work necessary to oonstruct and complete
in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordanoe with the
specifications, plans, and drawings therefor on file in the offioe
of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim and the notice inviting
sealed proposals, the public works and improvements hereinabove more
particularly mentioned and described, together with the appurtenanoes
thereto, be, and the same is hereby, accepted, and that a contract
for the construction and completion of said pUblio improvement be,
and the same is hereby, awarded to the said above named bidder.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED t~~t the successful bidder or
bidders upon each contract awarded as hereinabove set forth shall
be, and they are hereby required to execute a contract in the required
