Hello Council Members
I am writing as a concerned resident to express deep worry and growing fear in our community in response to recent ICE activity in our city. These
raids have had a chilling effect on many families, especially those with mixed immigration status, and have left parents, students, and workers living
in fear of leaving their homes.
Our community deserves to feel safe, regardless of immigration status. No one should have to choose between attending school, going to work,
and risking detention or deportation. These actions cause a climate of fear that is detrimental to all residents.
I strongly urge the city to make a clear and public commitment to the safety and dignity of immigrant communities. Please ensure that Anaheim
does its job by assisting the Anaheim community to feel safer. This includes ensuring that Anaheim Police do not collaborate with ICE or assist in
immigration enforcement actions. The city must also do more to share accurate information, promote access to le gal re sources, and
demonstrate its visible solidarity with our undocumented families.
Thank you,
V. Rosas
