RES-2025-057RESOLUTION NO.2025 - 0 5 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING PARAMEDIC FEES IN CONNECTION WITH EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES TO BE CHARGED BY THE FIRE AND RESCUE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2024-066 WHEREAS, Section 16.24.020 of the Anaheim Municipal Code provides that the City Council shall by resolution establish all fees for paramedic services in connection with emergency medical services provided to residents and businesses of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council has by Resolution No. 2024-066, as amended, established such paramedic services fees; and WHEREAS, in order to assist in defraying the cost of emergency medical services, the City Council desires to establish new service fees to be paid by persons who utilize or benefit from having said emergency medical services readily available; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and declares that adoption of this fee schedule is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to Section 21080(b)(8) of the Public Resources Code; and WHEREAS, the fees hereinafter established do not exceed the estimated reasonable cost of providing emergency medical services in the City of Anaheim for which the fees are charged; and WHEREAS, the fees have been considered at a duly noticed public hearing as required by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the fees set forth below be, and the same are, hereby established as follows: Section 1. Voluntary Subscription Fee for Paramedic Membership Program: $60 per year per residence or business (does not include BLS or ALS Transport) Section 2. The fees described in Schedule A and Schedule B may be charged for emergency medical services calls and may be adjusted to align with full cost recovery. Section 3. The fees described in Schedule C may be charged for emergency medical services calls and may be adjusted to align with Orange County Emergency Ground Ambulance Rates percentage increases. Section 4. Parties will have the option of entering into separate contracts with the City of Anaheim that may provide fees for additional services. Section 5. Resolution No. 2024-066 shall be rescinded on the effective date of the fees set forth in this Resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the fees set forth in this Resolution shall become effective July 1, 2025.
