A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING A SEALED PROPOSAL AND
AWARDING A LEASE TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE
BIDDER FOR THE LEASING OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY
FOR OIL, GAS AND OTHER HYDROCARBON SUBSTANCES
WITHIN THE LEASE KNOWN AS THE STANDARD OIL
COMPANY MAGNOLIA LEASE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
did by its Resolution No. 62R -140 invite sealed proposals for
the leasing of certain real property of the City of Anaheim
lying within the Magnolia Exploratory Area; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution inviting such sealed
proposals was duly published in the manner and to the extent
required by law; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place designated for the
opening of such sealed proposals only one proposal was sub-
mitted but such proposal was in proper form and exceeded the
minimum requirements set forth in said notice inviting sealed
proposals; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the sealed
proposal submitted by the Standard Oil Company of California
is the lowest responsible proposal submitted for the leasing,
for oil exploration and production purposes, of certain real
property belonging to the City of Anaheim lying within the
Magnolia Exploratory Area and that the above named corporation
is a responsible corporation and that said proposal is in the
best interests of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the sealed proposal of the Standard
Oil Company of California for the leasing, for oil exploration
and production purposes, of certain real property belonging
to the City of Anaheim lying within the Magnolia Exploratory
Area in strict accordance with the notice inviting sealed
proposals, be, and the same is hereby, accepted, and that an
oil and gas lease encompassing said real property, be, and
the same is hereby authorized between the City of Anaheim
as lessor and the said Standard Oil Company of California as
lessee in a form satisfactory to the City Attorney of the City
of Anaheim.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the
City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and they are hereby
authorized and directed to make, execute and enter into, for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim, an oil and gas lease
encompassing said real property and in a form satisfactory
to the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim.
