A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM VACATING PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENTS
LOCATED AT 2972 ROME AVENUE PURSUANT TO
CALIFORNIA STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE SECTION
8330, ET SEQ. - SUMMARY VACATION. (ABA2025-00437)
WHEREAS, an applicant has requested the vacation of certain public utility easements
generally located at 2972 Rome Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of
California, as more particularly described below ("Public Service Easements"), in order to clear
title to the land because the electrical facilities have been removed;
WHEREAS, in 1955, the grantors (at the time, Shannon Homes, Inc., et al.) granted the
Public Service Easements to Southern California Edison Company;
WHEREAS, in 1975, the Southern California Edison Company assigned the Public Service
Easements to the City of Anaheim;
WHEREAS, the Public Service Easements are not necessary for present or prospective
public utility purposes or any other public purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Public Service Easements to be vacated have been superseded by removal
and there are no other public facilities located within the Public Service Easements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Anaheim
does hereby order the vacation (as described in Exhibit A-1 and depicted in Exhibit B-1, both of
which are attached hereto and incorporated by reference) of the Public Service Easement recorded
on May 4, 1955, as Instrument Number 53278 in Book 3054, Pages 35, referring to the tract map
recorded on March 10, 1955, as Tract No. 2228 in Book 69, Pages 34 to 37 inclusive, of
Miscellaneous Maps, Official Records of Orange County (now records of the Recorders Office of
said County of Orange), and later assigned to the City of Anaheim per an Assignment recorded
January 2, 1975, as Instrument Number 640 in Book 11316, Page 61765, Official Records of
Orange County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby
order the vacation (as described in Exhibit A-2 and depicted in Exhibit B-2, both of which are
attached hereto and incorporated by reference) of the Public Service Easement recorded on March
10, 1955, as Tract No. 2228 in Book 69, Pages 34 to 37 inclusive, of Miscellaneous Maps, Official
Records of Orange County (now records of the Recorders Office of said County of Orange), and
later assigned to the City of Anaheim per an Assignment recorded January 2, 1975, as Instrument
Number 640 in Book 11316, Page 61765, Official Records of Orange County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby makes
this vacation pursuant to the requirements of the California Streets and Highways Code, Division
9, Part 3, Chapter 4.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the vacation authorized by this Resolution shall not
be effective until a certified copy of this Resolution is recorded in the Office of the Recorder of
the County of Orange, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and is hereby, authorized and
directed to cause a certified copy of this Resolution to be recorded in the Office of the Recorder of
the County of Orange, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that from and after the date the certified copy of this
Resolution is recorded in the Office of the Recorder of the County of Orange, the vacation shall
be complete, and the Public Service Easements vacated shall no longer constitute a public service
easement.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim this day of August 12 , 2025, by the following roll call vote:
