RESOLUTION NO. 62R -718
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING A SEALED PROPOSAL AND
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE
BIDDER WHOSE BID BEST RESPONDS IN QUALITY,
FITNESS AND CAPACITY, FOR ALL LEGAL ADVERTISING
REQUIRED BY LAW TO BE PUBLISHED IN A NEWSPAPER
OF GENERAL CIRCULATION, PRINTED AND PUBLISHED
OUTSIDE THE CITY, BUT IN THE COUNTY OF ORANGE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did
cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to
wit: Anaheim Bulletin, on the 17th and 24th days of July,
1962, a notice inviting sealed proposals for furnishing the
following legal advertising:
For all legal advertising to be done by the
City of Anaheim, required by law to be published
in a newspaper of general circulation, printed
and published outside the City, but in the
County of Orange, for the year commencing
August 1, 1962, and ending July 31, 1963, in
conformity with the specifications for such
advertising, which specifications are marked
and designated "Specifications for Printing
and Advertising_of the City of Anaheim,
Series of 1959," on file in the Office of
the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim.
AND WHEREAS, said notice inviting sealed proposals
for said legal advertising did provide that sealed proposals
would be received by the City of Anaheim at the Office of the
City Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to the hour of 7 :00
o'clock P.M., on the 31st day of July, 1962, for the furnishing
of all legal advertising to be done by the City, required by
law to be published in a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published outside the City but in the County of
Orange, for the year commencing August 1, 1962, and ending
July 31, 1963; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim did
receive the following sealed proposals prior to 7 :00 o'clock
P.M. on the 31st day of July, 1962, in response to the notice
aforesaid inviting sealed proposals, to wit:

AND WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the sealed
proposal submitted by the Placentia Courier, 132 Santa Fe Avenue,
Placentia, California, is the lowest responsible proposal
submitted that best responds in quality, fitness and capacity
for the furnishing of all legal advertising to be done by
the City, required by law to be published in a newspaper of
general circulation, printed and published outside the City
but in the County of Orange, because of the fact that the
only other bid submitted was not accompanied by a form of
bidder's security as required by Section 37932 of the
Government Code and as called for in the legal notice inviting
sealed proposals; that it conforms with the specifications for
said advertising on file in the Office of the City Clerk of
the City of Anaheim, as specified in the notice inviting
sealed proposals; and that the person, firm or corporation
submitting said proposal is a responsible person, firm or
corporation, and that the proposal of said above -named bidder
should be accepted and a contract awarded to said bidder in
accordance therewith.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the sealed proposal submitted by
the Placentia Courier, 132 Santa Fe Avenue, Placentia,
California, for the furnishing of all legal advertising to be
done by the City of Anaheim, required by law to be published
in a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published
outside the City but in the County of Orange, for the year
commencing August 1, 1962, and ending July 31, 1963, in
conformity with the specifications on file in the Office of
the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim and the notice inviting
sealed proposals be, and the same is hereby accepted, and that
a contract for said legal advertising be, and the same is
hereby, awarded to the said above -named bidder.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said successful bidder
shall be, and it is hereby, required to execute a contract in
the required form with the City of Anaheim upon the terms and
conditions specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals and
the proposal submitted by said successful bidder, and in accord-
ance with the specifications on file with the City Clerk of
the City of Anaheim and with the terms, conditions and provisions
of this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City
Clerk of the City of. Anaheim be, and they are hereby, authorized
and directed to make, execute and enter into, for and on behalf
of the City of Anaheim, a written contract with said successful
bidder for the furnishing of said legal advertising, as herein
above more particularly described, upon the terms and conditions
as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, the
specifications on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim and in strict accordance with the terms,
conditions and provisions of this resolution, and in accord-
ance with all of the contract documents herein specified.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 7th day of August, 1962.

Anaheim, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
introduced and adopted at a regular meeting provided by law
of the City Council of the City of Anaheim, held on the 7th
day of August, 1962, by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Schutte, Chandler, Krein and
Coons.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Dutton
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim approved and signed said resolution on the 7th day
of August, 1962.
