1955-3014WHEREAS, the proposal for the annexation of said
territory to the City of Anaheim has been submitted to the
Boundary Commission of the County of Orange for its report to
the proponents with respect to the definiteness and certainty
of the proposed boundaries; that said Boundary Commission has
(has not) reported upon the petition or proceedings within
twenty (20) days after it was submitted to it; and
`.TiEREAS, said Cit Council did, on the 27th day of
September 19 55 y adopt Resolution No. 2938
giving its consent to the commencement of said annexation pro-
ceedings and approving the circulation of a petition for the
annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, on the llth day of October
19 55 said proponents did publish a notice of intention to
circulate a petition for the annexation of the hereinafter de-
scribed property to the City of Anaheim, and within ten (10)
days thereafter did file with the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim .a copy of such notice of intention to circulate a petit-
ion for the annexation to the City of Anaheim of said territory,
which notice contained the names of the proponents intending to
circulate the petition and the specific boundaries of the terr-
itory proposed to be annexed, accompanied by a printed state-
ment, not exceeding five hundred (500) words in length, contain-
ing reasons for the petition, together with an affidavit of the
publication of said notice of intention to circulate said
petition; and

OF ANAHEIM DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A
SPECIAL ELECTION TO SUBMIT TO THE QUALIFIED

1 9 55 the City Council did receive from the City Planning
Commission its recommendation approving the proposed annexation;

7EREAS, within fifteen (15) days after the filing of
said notice of intention to circulate said petition, accompanied
by said affidavit of publication, the City Council did, on the
17th day of October 19 55 adopt Resolution
No. 2968 finding and determining that it would be to the advan-
tage and for the best interest of the City of Anaheim and the
qualified electors residing within the hereinafter described
territory, to approve the circulation of a petition for the

upon approve the circulation of said petition; and
WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of November 19
the City Council did receive a petition signed by not less than

shown by the County Registration of
Voters, containing a descrintion of the new territory +for proposed to
be annexed to the City of Anaheim and asking that said territory
be annexed to the City; and the City Council does find and de-
termine that said proponents have done and performed the acts and
things required to be done and performed by the Annexation Act
of 1913, at the time and in the manner as required by the pro-
visions of said Act; and that said petition was circulated more
than twenty -one (21) days after the publication of notice of in-
tention to circulate such petition and that it is signed by not
less than one fourth of the qualified electors residing within
the territory proposed to be annexed, as shown by the County
Registration of Voters and as appears from the certificate of the
City Clerk of the City of Anaheim presented to the City Council
at the time of consideration of said petition and prior to the
adoption of this resolution; and does further find that more than
twelve (12) qualified electors resided within the boundaries of
the territory proposed to be annexed at the time of the filing
of said petition for said annexation; and does further find, from
evidence and reports received and from said petition, that at
the time of the filing and presentation of said petition, that
said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim
did not form a part of any other city or municipal corporation,
and that said territory was, at the time of filing said petition
inhabited territory and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that it
would be to the advantage and for the best interests of the City
of Anaheim, and the residents thereof, and the qualified electors
residing within the territory proposed to be annexed, as herein-
after more particularly described, to submit the question of the
annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim to the elect-
ors residing within said territory; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that said
territory should be designated by some appropriate name by which
it may be referred to upon the ballots used at the election at
which the question of annexation of said territory to the City of
Anaheim shall be submitted to the electors residing within said
territory and that an appropriate designation for such territory
is ROMNEYA -WEST ANi and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
so proposed and sought to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are
as follows, to -wit: Said territory is situated in the County of
Orange, State of California, and the specific boundaries thereof
are as follows:
ROMNEYA -WEST ANNEXATION
A parcel of land being a portion of Fractional Section 4, Township 4
South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the existing Anaheim City Limits Line as
established by the Miles Rancho Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation
No. 51, as passed by Ordinance No. 955 on December 28, 1954 and filed with the
Secretary of State on January 31, 1955, said point also being the most northwest
corner of Lot 1 of Miles Rancho as shown on a map thereof in Book 4 at Page 7 of
Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County; thence,
1. Southerly 1340 feet, more or less, along westerly line and its
southerly prolongation of said Lot 1 and also along said existing Anaheim City
Limits Line to a point of intersection with a line parallel to and 20.00 feet
southerly, as measured at right angles, from northerly line of Si of SE- of said
Fractional S 4 (said northerly line also being the centerline of Romneya
Drive, thence,
2. Easterly 846 feet, more or less, along said line parallel to
centerline of Romneya Drive and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits
Line to a point of intersection with a line parallel to and 186.60 feet easterly,
as measured at right angles, from westerly line of Lot 11 of said Miles Rancho,
said parallel line also being the westerly line of the Kennedy Annexation to the
City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 12 as passed by Ordinance No. 735 on December 28,
1948 and filed with the Secretary of State on February 3, 1949; thence,
3. Southerly 1268.17 feet, more or less, along said line parallel to
westerly line of Lot 11, and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to
a point of intersection with a line parallel to and 30.00 feet northerly, as
measured at right angles, from south Section Line of said Fractional Section 4,
(said south Section Line also being the centerline of La Palma Avenue) and said
parallel line also being in the north line of the North and West Annexation to
the City of Anaheim; thence,
4. Westerly 342.93 feet, more or less along said line parallel to
south Section Line of Fractional Section 4 and also along said existing Anaheim
City Limits Line to a point of intersection with a line parallel to and 156.32
feet westerly, as measured at right angles, from easterly line of Lot 10 of said
Miles Rancho, said point of intersection also being the most southeast corner of
the West Anaheim Annexation to the City of Anaheim; thence,
5. Northerly 150.00 feet, along said line parallel to easterly line of
Lot 10 and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to a point; thence,
6. Westerly 174.66 feet along a line parallel to said south Section
Line of Fractional Section 4 and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits
Line to a point; thence,
7. Northerly 480.00 feet along e line parallel to said easterly line
of Lot 10 and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to a point;
thence,
8. Westerly 366.48 feet, more or less, along a line parallel to said
south Section Line of Fractional Section 4 and also along said existing Anaheim
City Limits Line to a point of intersection with a line parallel to and 20.00
feet westerly, as measured at right angles, from the monumented centerline of
West Street, said point also being in the east line of the West La Palma
Annexation No. 2, Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 31 as passed
by Ordinance No. 826 on January 13, 1953 and filed with the Secretary of State
on February 24, 1953; thence,
9. Northerly 40 feet, more or less, along said line parallel to center-
line of West Street and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to a
point of intersection with the north line of that certain parcel deeded to Joseph
Packer and Marie Packer, husband and wife, as described in Certificate of Title
No. 12,245, filed in Book 49 at Page 232, Records of Orange County; thence,

10. Westerly 186.18 feet, more or less, along said north line of last
described parcel and also along said existing ,Anaheim City Limits Line to an angle
point in said north line; thence,
11. Southwesterly 338 feet, more or less, along said northerly line and
its prolongation and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to the east
line of that certain parcel deeded to George Albertus Collman filed in Book 1127
at page 423, Document No. 4821, Records of Orange County; thence,
12. Northerly 165.43 feet, more or less, along said east line and also
along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to the southerly right -of -way line
of the Anaheim Union Water Company as referred to in said deed; thence,
13. Southwesterly 446.9 feet, more or less, along said right -of -way
line and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to the west line of
said parcel deeded to George Albertus Collman; thence,
14. Northerly 18 feet, more or less, along the northerly prolongation
of said west line and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to the
northerly right -of -way line of said Anaheim Union Water Company; thence,
15. Southwesterly 10 feet, more or less along said northerly right
of -way line and also alcng said existir; Anaheim City Limits Line to a point of
intersection with the north line of thz certain parcel of land deeded to Eugene
P. Hapgood and Genevieve G. Hapgood, husband and wife, as described in Certificate
of Title No. 9902 filed in Book 40 at page 139, Records of Orange County; thence,
16. Westerly 196.2 feet, more or less, along said north line and also
along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to the southwest corner of Lot No. 5
as shown on a Record of Survey filed in Book 5 at page 55, Records of Orange
County, said southwest corner of Lot 5 also being the southeast corner of the
Romneya Drive Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 36 as passed by
Ordinance No. 857 on August 11, 1953 and filed with the Secretary of State on
September 14, 1953; thence,
17. Northerly 772 feet, more or less, along west line of said Lot 5 and
its northerly prolongation and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line
to a point of intersection with a line parallel to and 20.00 feet northerly, as
measured at right angles from the southerly line of NE4 of SW4 of said Fractional
Section 4, (said southerly line also being the centerline of Romneya Drive) and
said point being an angle point in the Euclid Romneya Annexation to the City of
Anaheim, Annexation No. 39 as passed by Ordinance No. 874 on December 22, 1953
and filed with the Secretary of State on January 25, 1954; thence,
18. Easterly 660 feet, more or less, along said line parallel to
southerly line of NE4 of SWi of Fractional Section 4 and also along said existing
Anaheim City Limits Line to the east line of the west 33,50 acres of said NE-1 of
SW4 of Fractional Section 4 as described in Decree of Distribution, Instrument
No. 13366 -40, Recorded in Book 1045, Page 333, Official Records of Orange County;
thence,
19. Northerly 1300 feet, more or less, along said easterly line of said
west 33.50 acres and also along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line to a point
of intersection with the east and west centerline of said Fractional Section 4;
thence,
20. Easterly 495 feet, more or less, along said east and west center-
line of Fractional Section 4 to the point of beginning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that it does hereby declare its intention
to call a special election for the purpose of submitting to the
electors residing in the hereinabove described new territory,
the question whether said new territory shall be annexed to, in-
corporated in, and made a part of the City of Anaheim and the
property `therein be, after such annexation, subject to taxation
equally with the property within said City of Anaheim, to pay
its pro rata share, based upon assessed valuation, of all of the
bonded indebtedness of said City` of Anaheim outstanding on the
date of the filing of the petition, to wit, the 22nd day of
November s 19 55 or theretofore authorized; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the territory so proposed
to be annexed shall be designated as "ROMNEYA -WEST ANNEXATION"
and
BE IT FJRTETER RESOLVED that the �2 th day of Dece k�er

Council Chamber of the City Hall in the City of Anaheim be, and
the same is hereby, fixed as the day, hour and place when and
where any person owning real property within the territory so
proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed
annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of
Anaheim and show -.ail e why such territory should not be so an-
nexed; that all per;or:s having any objections to such proposed
annexation are hereo7 rotified to appear on said day, at said
hour and place, to show cause, if any they have, why such terri-
tory should not be so annexed, and all such persons are further
notified that any protests against the calling of an election to
submit to the electors residing within said territory the
question of annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim,
or any protests against the annexation of said territory to the
City of Anaheim must be in writing and may be filed with the
City Clerk of the City of Anaheim at any time not later than the
hour and date set forth herein for the hearing of objections to
said election.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once
a week for two weeks prior to the date hereinabove fixed for the
hearing of protests and objections to said election and the
annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim, in the
ANAHEIM BULLETIN, a newspaper of general circulation, published
and circulated in the City of Anaheim, County of 0raz ge, State
of California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
