RESOLUTION NO. 2953
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE AND IN-
STALLATION OF ONE FAIRBANKS MORSE, FIGURE
6922, DEEP WELL TURBINE PUMP, WORK ORDER N0.
1372.
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine
that public convenience and necessity require the purchase
and installation, in Water Well No. 8 owned by the City, of
a Fairbanks Morse, Fiore 6922, Deep Well Turbine Pump with
a capacity of 2,000 gallons per minute at 220 TDH, 220' set-
ting, complying with the following specifications:
U. S. 150 H.P. 1750 VPM 3 phase 60 cycle 44 volt,
vertical hollow shaft with non reverse ratchet.
DISCHARGE HEAD:
242" x 12" surface discharge, with flanged adaption.
OILER:
2 quart solonoid oiler.
COLUMN:
220' 10" I.D. column.
SHAFT AND TUBING:
Column to be equipped with 3" tubing and 1 15/16"
shafting.
BOWLS:
3 stage 14" 1204 imp all enameled bowl assembly.
SUCTION AND STRAINER:
10' of 10" suction pipe with galvanized cone strainer.
BASE:
Concrete base 41 x 4' x 18" with chlorinating tube.
AND WHEREAS, Orange County Pump Company has offered
to furnish said deep well turbine pump complying with said
specifications and install the same within fourteen (14) work-
ing days from and after notice of acceptance of its offer, for
the price of x;6,846.52 payable as follows:
Eighty -five (85) per cent of said purchase price
to be paid upon delivery and completion of the
installation of said pump in Water Well No. 8
owned by the City of Anaheim; and the remaining
fifteen (15) per cent of said purchase price to
be withheld for a period of thirty (30) days

from and after completion of the installation
of said pump and final acceptance of said
work, and the filing of notice of completion.
AND AHEREAS, the City Council finds that said
price is the lowest obtainable for the purchase and in-
stallation of said pump and that the offer of Orange County
Pump Company should be accepted upon the conditions herein-
after set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the offer of Orange County Pump
Company to sell to the City of Anaheim and install in Water
Well No. 8 owned by the City, one Fairbanks Morse, Figure
6922, Deep Well Turbine Pump with a capacity of 2,000 gallons
per minute at 220 TDH, 220 setting, complying with the
specifications hereinabove set forth, be, and the same is
hereby, accepted upon the following conditions:
1. That said pump shall comply in all respects
with the specifications hereinabove set
forth, and shall be installed in said well
within a period of fourteen (14) working
days from and after receipt of notice from
the City of Anaheim of the acceptance of
said offer.
2. That said pump shall be installed in said
well ready for operation, exclusive of
piping and wiring.
3. That in the installation of said deep well
turbine pump in said Water Well No. 8 it
shall be expressly understood and agreed
that Orange County Pump Company is acting
as an independent contractor and not as an
agent, servent or employee of the City of
Anaheim.
That said installation shall be made in
accordance with the specifications and
requirements of the Superintendent of the
Light, Water and Power Department of the
City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved
by me this 3rd day of October, 1955.
