A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT TO BE MADE AND
ENTERED INTO WITH THE ANAI-IEIM UNION HIGH
SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE ANAHEIM ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL DISTRICT, TO ORGANIZE, PROMOTE AND
CONDUCT A JOINT PROGRAM OF COMMUNITY RECRE-
ATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, the Anaheim Union High
School District and the Anaheim Elementary School District
desire to promote and preserve the health and general welfare
of the people of the City of Anaheim, the Anaheim Union High
School District and the Anaheim Elementary School District and
to cultivate and develop good citizenship by providing for an
adequate program of community recreation, and to conduct such
a program of community recreation as will contribute to the
attainment of general education and recreational objectives
for the children and adults of said City and said School Dis-
tricts; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, the Anaheim Union High
School District and the Anaheim Elementary School District
desire to cooperate with each other to carry out the provisions
of Chapter 4, Division 12 of the Education Code of the State
of California, and to that end enter into an agreement with each
other to organize, promote and conduct a joint program of com-
munity recreation to promote and preserve the health and general
welfare of the children and people of said City and said School
Districts.
NOW, THEREFOEE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim enter into an
agreement with the Anaheim Union High School District and the
Anaheim Elementary School District for the following purposes:
1. To jointly organize, promote and conduct a pro-
gram of community recreation during the fiscal year 1955 -1956
for general education and recreational objectives for the
children and adults of said City and said School Districts, to
promote and preserve the health and general welfare of the
people of said City and said School Districts.
2. To provide that all public parks and recreational
facilities, excepting the municipal plunge, of the City of
Anaheim be made available and be used as a part of a joint
community recreation program for the fiscal year 1955 -1956, and
be maintained and cared for by the City; and
That the City make available to the Anaheim Union High
School District all public parks and recreational facilities,
excepting the municipal plunge, said facilities to be used
jointly in the physical education program of the Anaheim Union
High School District, and to be maintained and cared for by the
City of Anaheim during the fiscal year 1955 -1956.
3. To provide that all recreational facilities of the
Anaheim Union High School District be made available and be
used as a part of said joint community recreation program for
the fiscal year 1955 -1956, and be maintained and cared for by
the Anaheim Union High School District.

4. To provide that all recreational facilities of the
Anaheim Elementary School District be made available and be
used as a part of said joint community recreation program for
the fiscal year 1955 -1956, and be maintained and cared for by
the Anaheim Elementary School District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim shall
pay Eighteen Thousand Three Hundred Eighty -six Dollars 018,386),
the Anaheim Union High School District Thirty -five Thousand
Nine Hundred Ninety -four Dollars (435,99L1), and the Anaheim
Elementary School District Nine Thousand Five Hundred Ninety -six
Dollars ($9,596) of the general expense for salaries of super
visors, instructors, attendants, employees, and supplies and
general maintenance expenses of said community recreation program;
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City
Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and they are hereby, authorized
and directed to execute an agreement for and on behalf of the
City of Anaheim for the purpose of entering into, carrying on
and conducting a joint recreation program with the Anaheim Union
High School District and the Anaheim Elementary School District
under the provisions of Chapter Z}., Division 12 of the Education
Code of the State of California, and for the purpose of carry-
ing out the provisions of this Resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
this 9th day of August, 1955.

ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Pearson and Van Wagoner.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor Pro Tem of the
City of Anaheim approved and signed said Resolution on the 9th
day of August, 1955.
