Hammatt ment, not exceeding rive nunarea t,7uu) woras in ieiigua, eunutti.11- ing reasons for the petition, together with an affidavit of the publication of said notice of intention to circulate said petition; and '.IHEREAS, within fifteen (15) days after the filing of said notice of intention to circulate said petition, accompanied by said affidavit of publication, the City Council did, on the 17th day of June 1955 adopt Resolution No. 2811 finding and determining that it would be to the advan- tage and for the best interest of the City of Anaheim and the qualified electors residing within the hereinafter described territory, to approve the circulation of a petition for the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim and did there- upon approve the circulation of said petition; and WHEREAS, on the 26th day of July 19 the City Council did receiveve a�petition'signed by not less than one- fourth of the qualified electors residing within the territory hereinafter described, as shown by the County Registration of Voters, containing a descrii,tion of the new territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim and asking that said territory be annexed to the City; and the City Council does find and de- termine that said proponents have done and performed the acts and things required to be done and performed by the Annexation Act of 1913, at the time and in the manner as required by the pro- visions of said Act; and that said petition was circulated more than twenty -one (21) days after the publication of notice of in- tention to circulate such petition and that it is signed by not leas than one fourth of the qualified electors residing within the territory proposed to be annexed, as shown by the County Registration of Voters and as appears from the certificate of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim presented to the City Council at the time of consideration of said petition and prior to the adoption of this resolution; and does further find that more than twelve (12) qualified electors resided within the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed at the time of the filing of said petition for said annexation; and does further find, from evidence and reports received and from said petition, that at the time of the filing and presentation of said petition, that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any other city or municipal corporation, and that said territory was, at the time of filing said petition inhabited territory and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that it would be to the advantage and for the best interests of the City of Anaheim, and the residents thereof, and the qualified electors residing within the territory proposed to be annexed, as herein- after more particularly described, to submit the question of the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim to the elect- ors residing within said territory; and WHEREAS, the City Council does further find that said territory should be designated by some appropriate name by which it may be referred to upon the ballots used at the election at which the question of annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim shall be submitted to the electors residing within said territory and that an appropriate designation for such territory is "SOUTH ANAHEIM ANNEXATION;' and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory so proposed and sought to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to -wit: Said territory is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and the specific boundaries thereof are as follows: SOUTH ANAHEIM ANNEXATION A parcel of land being a portion of Sections 21, 22, 27 and 28 Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an angle point in the existing Anaheim City Limits line as established by the Disneyland Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 48 as passed by Ordinance No. 932 on Oct. 13, 1954 and filed with the Secretary of State on December 30, 1954, said point also being the point of intersection of a line parallel to and 40.00 feet northerly as measured at right angles, from the south line of said Section 21 (said south line also being the centerline of Katelia Avenue), and a line parallel to and 30.00 feet easterly, as measured at right angles from the west line of said Section 21 (said west line also being the centerline of Euclid Avenue); thence, 1. Southerly 40 feet, more or less, along said line parallel to west line of Section 21 to a point in the south line of said Section 21, thence, 2. Continuing southerly 990 feet, more or less, along a line parallel to and 30.00 feet easterly, as measured at right angles from west line of said Section 28 to a point on the westerly extension of the north line of Tract 1475 as shown on a map thereof, recorded in Book 68 at Pages 30, 31, and 32 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County; thence, 3. Easterly 1290 feet, more or less, along said north line of Tract 1475 and its westerly extension to the East line of said Tract 1475; thence, 4. Southerly 660 feet, more or less, along said east line to the south line of said Tract 1475 thence, 5. Westerly 1290 feet, more or less, along said south line and its westerly extension to a point in a line parallel to and 30 feet easterly, as measured at right angles from the west line of said Section 28; thence, 6. Southerly 2310 feet, more or less, along said line parallel to the west line of Section 28 to a point in the south line of the NI- of the Sl! 117 of said Section 28 thence, 7. Easterly 1950 feet, more or less, along said south line to a point in the east line of the 51.1'- of the NE) of the S117 of said Section 28; thence, 8. Northerly 660 feet, more or less, along said east line to a point in the south line of the N-2 of the NE of the SY'' of Section 28; thence, 9. Easterly 640 feet, more or less, along said south line to the west right of way line of Ninth Street (40 feet wide); thence, 10. Northerly 660, feet more or less, along said west right of way line to a point in the south line of the Ws of Section 28; thence, 11. Easterly 1345 feet, more or less, along said south line to a point in the southerly prolongation of the west line of Tract 2255 as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 61 at Pages 28 and 29 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Crange County; thence, 12. Northerly 990 feet, more or less, along said west line and its southerly prolongation to a point on the north line of said Tract No. 2255; thence, 13. Easterly 1354 feet, more or less, along the north line of said Tract No. 2255 and its easterly prolongation to a point in a line parallel to and 30.00 feet easterly as measured at right angles from east line of said Section 28, (said east line also being the centerline of ''Jest Street); thence, 14. Southerly 970 feet, more or less, along said line parallel to east line of Section 28 to a line parallel to and 30.00 feet northerly as measured at right angles from the north line of SV of said Section 27, (said north line also being the centerline of Orangewood Avenue); thence, 15. Easterly 1950 feet, more or less, along said line parallel to north line of SW-,1- of Section 27 to a point in the west line of E of NE:1 of Ski- of Section 27; thence, 16. Southerly 1340 feet, more or less, along said west line of E2 of NEB of Sir of Section 27 to a point in the south line of NI of SL of said Section 27; thence, 17. Easterly 1980 feet, more or less, along said south line of NI of S2 of said Section 27 to a point in the east line of of EI of Section 27 thence, 18. Northerly 3300 feet, more or less, along the said east line of the tV of the E2 of Section 27 to a point in the south line of the NI of the N-2 of the NE -y_ of Section 27; thence, 19. Easterly 1290 feet, more or less, along the said south line of the ICI of the NI of the NE-k. of Section 27 to a point in a line parallel to and 30 feet westerly as measured at right angles from the east line of Section 27 thence, 20. Northerly 660 feet, more or less, along said parallel line to a point in the south line of Section 22,(said south line also being the centerline of Katella Avenue), thence, 21. Continuing northerly 40 feet, more or less, along a line parallel to and 30 feet, westerly as measured at right angles from the east line of Section 22 to a point on the south City Limits line of the City of Anaheim as established in the previously described Disneyland Annexation; thence, 22. Westerly 9550 feet, more or less, along said existing Anaheim City Limits line and also along a line parallel to and 40.00 feet northerly as measured at right angles from said centerline of Katella Avenue, to a point in the westerly line of Lot 8 of Block 17 of the Fairview Colony Tract as shown on a map thereof in Book 1 at Page 33 of Miscellaneous Record Maps, Records of Orange County thence, 23. Northerly 620 feet, more or less, along said existing Anaheim City Limits line and also alorg said westerly line of Lot 8 to the most northwesterly corner of said Loy. 8; thence, 24. t'lesterly 1320 feet, more or less, along said existing Anaheim City Limits line and also along northerly line of Lots 6 and 7 of said Block 17 to the most northeasterly corner of Lot 5 of said Block 17 thence, 25. Southe- :.ly 620 feet, more or less, along said existing Anaheim City Limits line and also along easterly line of said Lot 5 to a point in a line parallel to end 40.00 feet northerly, as measured at right angles, from said centerline of Katella Avenue; thence, 26. iesterly 630 feet, more or less, along said existing Anaheim City Limits line and also along said line parallel to centerline of Katella Avenue to the point of beginning. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that it does hereby declare its intention to call a special election on or after the 21st day of October 19 55, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in the hereinabove described new territory, the question whether said new territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of the City of Anaheim and the property therein be, after such annexation, subject to taxation equally with the property within said City of Anaheim, to pay its pro rata share, based upon assessed valuation, of all of the bonded indebtedness of said City of Anaheim outstanding on the 26th day of July 19 55 or theretofore authorized; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the territory so proposed to be annexed shall be designated as SOUTH ANAHEIM ANNEXATION and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 13thday of September 19 55 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of Anaheim be, and the same is hereby, fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within the territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such proposed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day, at said hour and place, to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed, and all such persons are further notified that any protests against the calling of an election to submit to the electors residing within said territory the question of annexation of said territory to the City of Ana- heim, or any protests against the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim must be in writing and may be filed with the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim at any time not later than the hour and date set forth herein for the hearing of objections to said election. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, andshe is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once a week for two weeks prior to the date hereinabove fixed for the hearing of protests and objections to said election and the annex- ation of said territory to the City of Anaheim, in the ANAHEIM BULLETIN, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circu- lated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of Calif- ornia.
