A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THL CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC
CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUC-
TION AND COMPL1 TION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT,
TO WIT: CONSTRUCTION OF A 16" WATER LINE FROM
THE INTERSECTION OF CRONE AND EUCLID AVENUES,
WESTERLY ALONG CRONE AVENUE TO NUTWOOD STREET,
THENCE NORTHERLY ALONG NUTWOOD STREET TO ORANGE
AVENUE, THENCE WESTERLY ALONG ORANGE AVENUE TO
MAGNOLIA AVENUE, WORK ORDER NO. 1349; APPROVING
THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROi+'1Tâ– 5, DRAWINGS AND
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC
IMPROVEiIET IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement, to wit:
The construction, installation and completion of
a sixteen (16) inch steel cylinder concrete water
line, with valves, fittings and all appurtenances,
extending from the intersection of Crone and
Euclid Avenues westerly along Crone Avenue to
Nutwood Street, thence northerly along Nutwood
Street to Orange Avenue, thence westerly along
Orange Avenue to Magnolia Avenue, Work Order
No. 1349.
Said public improvement to be completed on or
before thirty (30) days from and after date of
execution of contract.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Super-
intendent of Light, Power and Water to prepare detailed de-
signs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications, and
estimates of quantities and costs, and make necessary surveys
for the construction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said Superintendent has prepared said de-
tailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications
for the construction of said public improvement and has sub-
mitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for
said public improvement above mentioned are in accordance with
good engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs
and requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and
residents in said area for the purposes for which they are
intended, and that they are adequate for the construction of
said public improvement and should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, pro
files, drawings and specifications for said public improvement
hereinabove mentioned and described be, and the same are here-
by, approved and adopted as prepared by said Superintendent.

AND BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as pre-
pared by said Superintendent and hereby approved, and such
addenda or modifications thereto as may be approved piror to
the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed pro-
posals for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, ma-
terials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation,
including power, fuel and water, and performing all work neces-
sary to construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike
manner, in strict accordance with said detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said
Superintendent, the public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described, and fixing the 26th day of July 1955
at the hour of 7 :00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the
opening of said bids at the City Council Chambers in the City
Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be
published twice, the first of which publications shall be at
least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of
bids, and that said publications shall be at least five (5)
days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESJLVED that the successful bidder
or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract with the
City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by the City
Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction, instal-
lation and completion of said public improvement hereinabove
mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans and
specifications prepared by said Superintendent of Light, Power
and Water, the notice inviting sealed proposals, this resolu-
tion and all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and
the laws of the State of California, and shall be required to
post bonds and insurance in the amounts and within the time
required by law, as specified in the notice inviting sealed
proposals, and in a form approved by the City Attorney,
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 12th day of July, 1 955.
