OF ANAhEIl'I ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION
FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING
THE TERRITORY AS THE
BARROWS
ANNEXATION; DEC.CRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE DAY, hOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND
WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY iIITHIN
SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY
APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE
:WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim dice
on the 28th day of June 1955 receive a
written petition asking that certain new territory described
raid petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro
posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commissiox
of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon
by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and
certainty of the proposed boundaries; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said
City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of
California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un-
inhabited territory, and said petition contained a descriptiol.
of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this
Resolution described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
%orts received that at the time of the filing and receipt of saik
petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one-
fourth (4) of the area and not less than one fourth of the
assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be
annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess-
ment roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
x.rts received and from said petition that at the time of the
filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory
proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a
part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un-
inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
so prrr;osod to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows,
to wit:
BARROWS ANNEXATION
A parcel of land being a portion of Sections 6 and 7, Township 4 South
Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly
described as follows;
Beginning at the most northeast corner of Lot 21 of Tract 1161 as
shown on a map thereof, recorded in Book 36 at Page 46 of Maps, Records of
Orange County California; thence,
1. S89 °22'W 680.19 feet, more or less, along northerly line of said
Tract 1161 and its westerly prolongation to a point of intersection with a
line parallel to and 20.00 feet westerly, as measured at right angles from
west line of NE.) of said Section 7, (said west line also being the centerline
of Gilbert Street) and said parallel line being the existing Anaheim City
Limits line as established by the Gilbert Street Annexation to the City
of Anaheim, Annexation Nc. 37 as passed by Ordinance No. 868 on Ncv. 24,
1953 and filed with the Secretary of State on January 11, 1954 thence,
2. NO 46'50 "1'! 689.81 feet, more or less, along said existing Anaheim
City Limits line, and also along said line parallel to centerline of Gilbert
Street to a point of intersection with a line parallel to and 30.00 feet
northerly, as measured at right angles, from the north section line of
said Section 7 (said north section line also being the centerline of
La Palma Avenue); thence,
3. N89 22'E 680.19 feet, more or less, along said existing Anaheim
City Limits line and also along said line parallel to centerline of La
Palma Avenue to a point of intersection with the northerly prolongation of
the westerly line of said Tract No. 1161; thence,
4. S0 °46'50 "E 689.81 feet, more or less, along said west line of
Tract No. 1161 and its northerly prolongation to the point of beginning.
in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to
wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California,
and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside
of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the
territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of
Anaheim, to wit: The Cypress Enterprise and that
such publication shall be completed at least twenty (20) days
prior to the date of hearing hereinabove specified.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to cause written notice of such proposed annexation: to be mailed
to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll
available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the
address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and
the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either
legal or equitable, with said Clerk; and in the event that land
within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of
Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annex-
ation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County.
The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20)
days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
