A :-ESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION
FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING
THE TERRITORY AS THE
MAHR -RADER
ANNEXATION; DEtiCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND
WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY tIITHIN
SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY
APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE
,'THY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim dice
on the lath day of June 1955 receive a
written petition asking that certain new territory described i�..
caid petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro-
posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commissiot
of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon
by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and
certainty of the proposed boundaries; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said
City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of
California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un-
inhabited territory, and said petition contained a descriptio'a
of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this
Resolution described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
,)orts received that at the time of the filing and receipt of saiL
petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one
fourth of the area and not less than one fourth (4) of the
assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be
annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess-
ment roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
Lorts received and from said petition that at the time of the
filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory
proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a
part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un-
inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
so proosed, to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows,
to wit:
MAHR -RADER ANNEXATION
A parcel of land being a portion of the Northwest of Section 18, Township
4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly
described as follows.
Beginning at an angle point in the existing Anaheim City Limits line as es-
tablished by the Gilbert Street Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation
No. 37, as passed by Ordinance No. 868 on November 24, 1953 and filed with the
Secretary of State on January 11, 1954, said point being 581.80 feet southerly
of the southerly right of way line of Broadway (40 feet wide) as measured along
the easterly line of Tract No. 25 as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 9,
at Page 28, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County; thence,
1. Easterly along said existing Anaheim City Limits line a distance of 300 feet,
more or less, to the northwest corner of the Southeast 5 acres of the SW- of NV,F,`
of Section 18, T4S, R10W, SBBM, thence,
2. Southerly along westerly line of said Southeast 5 acres to the northerly
right of way line of Orange Avenue (40 feet wide); thence,
3. Westerly along said northerly right of way line of Orange Avenue to the
most northeasterly right of way corner of said Orange Avenue and Magnolia
Avenue (60 feet wide); thence,
4. Northerly 374.5 feet as measured along easterly right of way line of
said Magnolia Avenue to a point; thence,
5. Easterly along a line parallel to the said northerly right of way line of
Orange Avenue to the easterly line of said Tract No. 25; thence,
6. Northerly along said easterly line of Tract 25 to the point of beginning.
in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to
wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California,
and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside
of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the
territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of
Anaheim, to wit: The Cypress Enterprise and that
such publication shall be completed at least twenty (20) days
prior to the date of hearing hereinabove specified.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed
to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll
available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the
address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and
the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either
legal or equitable, with said Clerk; and in the event that land
within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of
Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annex-
ation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County.
The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20)
days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
this 14th day of June 19 55

certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted upon a final reading at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Anaheim, held on the
14th day of June, 1955, by the following vote of the members thereof:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Pearson, Fry, Schutte and Wisser.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMAN?: Van Wagoner.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim
approved and signed said resolution on the 14th day of June, 1955.
