A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETER-
MINING THAT PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY
REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT, THE WIDENING AND
IMPROVEMENT OF WEST STREET FROM KATELLA
AVENUE TO BALL ROAD, JOB NO. 365, AND APPROV-
ING THE DESIGN, PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS AND
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE JOINT CONSTRUCTION OF SAID
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT BY THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM IN ACCORDANCE WITH
SAID PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK, ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AS CONTRACTING AGENT, TO PUB-
LISH A NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement partly within
the County of Orange and partly within the City of Anaheim, to
wit: The widening, excavation, grading, paving and installation
of curb returns and appurtenant work upon and along West Street
from Katella Avenue to Ball Road, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
Anaheim does find and determine that it would be to the advan-
tage and for the best interest of the Cit of Anaheim to
construct said improvement jointly with tie oun y of range
and that the County pay the cost of the improvement of that
portion of said improvement situated within the County at the
present time and that the City pay the cost of the improvement
of that portion of the area situated within the City Limits, and
that the City of Anaheim should be designated as the contracting
agent to do and perform all acts and things necessary for the
construction and completion of said public improvement, and
WHEREAS, detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings
and specifications for the construction of said public improve-
ment have been prepared by the Cit En: nee

Cit Council finds that said detailed designs, plans,
pro es, crawings and specifications for said public improvement
above mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practioe
and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of the
County of Orange and the City of Anaheim and the citizens and
residents in said area for the purposes for which they are in-
tended, and that they are adequate for the construction of said
public improvement and should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs,
p ans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said public
improvement hereinabove mentioned and described be, and the same
are hereby approved and adopted as prepared by said engineer.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed jointly by the County of Orange and the City
of Anaheim in accordance with said detailed designs, plans, pro-
files, drawings and specifications as prepared by said engineer
and such addenda or modifications thereto as may be approved
prior to the awarding of bids therefor, and that the cost of such
public improvement situated within the incorporated ares,of the
City of Anaheim at the present time shA1l be paid for by the City

of Anaheim and that the portion of said public improvement
situated within the unincorporated area of the County of Orange
at the present time shall be paid for by the County of Orange.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim
be, and it is hereby designated as the contracting agent for the
City of Anaheim and the County of Orange, to do and perform all
acts and things necessary or required for the construction and
completion of said public improvement hereinabove mentioned and
described, and to execute and deliver all documents necessary or
required in the construction and completion of said public improve-
ment, and that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and she
is hereby authorized and directed to publish a notice according
to law inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of all plant,
labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and
.transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing
all work necessary, to construct and complete, in a good and
workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said
engineer, the public improvement hereinabove mentioned and de-
scribed, and fixing the 31st day of May 1955, at
the hour of 7:00 o'clock PP.X as the day and hour for the opening
of said bids at the City Council chambers in the City Hall in the
City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall be published twice,
the first of which publications shall be at least ten (10) days
prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids, and that said
publicationsshall be at least five {5} days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a contract be entered
into by and between the County of Orange and the City of Anaheim
upon the terms and conditions herein specified, and that the
Mayor of the City of Anaheim
and the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim sg7= IsTraw
hereby authorized to execute said agreement for and on behalf of
the City of Anaheim

passed at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Anaheim, held on the 16th day of May, 1955, by the follow-
ing vote of the members thereof:

NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMAN: Schutte.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that.the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim signed and approved said resolution on the 16th day of May,
1955.
