A ::ESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANA IM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION
FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING
T-E TERRITORY AS THE
HOUSTON MAGNOLIA
ANNEXATION; DE:CRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND
WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY
APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE
WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim dic,
on the 21st day of Aril 19 55 receive a
written petition asking that certain new territory described
said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro
posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commissiot
of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon
by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and
certainty of the proposed boundaries; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said
City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of
California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un-
inhabited territory, and said petition contained a description.
of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this
Resolution described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
i orts received that at the time of the filing and receipt of salt
petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one-
fourth (4) of the area and not less than one- fourth of the
assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be
annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess-
ment ro11; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
ports received and from said petition that at the time of the
Ming ing and presentation of said petition that said new territory
proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a
part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un-
inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
so proosed, to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows,
to wit:

.A parcel of land being a portion of the 1111 of Fractional Section 6,
Township 4 South, Range 10 ;lest, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more
particularly described as follows!
Beginning at the southwest corner of E 158,9 feet of T T 480 feet of
N 251.33 feet of S 271.33 feet of N;1 of Fractional Section 6, said point also
being an angle point in the Fullerton City Limits line and also being in the
north line of existing Anaheim City Limits line as established by the Houston
Avenue Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 32 as passed by
Ordinance No. 830 on January 13, 1953 and filed with the Secretary of State on
February 24, 1953; thence,
1. Northerly 251.33 feet, more or less, along west line of said
E 158.9 feet of W 480 feet of N 251,33 feet of S 271.33 feet of NW?: of
Fractional Section 6 and also along said Fullerton City Limits line to the
northwest corner of said parcel; thence,
2. Easterly 158.9 feet, more or less, along said Fullerton City
Limits line and also along north line of last described parcel to the northeast
corner of said parcel; thence,
3, Northerly 516,67 feet, more or less, along said Fullerton City
Limits line and also along the northerly prolongation of the east line of last
described parcel (said east line being parallel to west line of said NW of
Fractional Section 6) to the southerly line of right of sway owed by State of
California; thence,
4. S 74°03 E. 747.57 feet, along said right of way line to a
point; thence,
5. S 0 19 1 34" W. 568.00 feet along a line parallel to said west
line of of Fractional Section 6 to a point of intersection with a line
parallel to and 20.00 feet northerly as measured at right angles from south
line of said It of Fractional Section 6, (said south line also being the
centerline of Houston Street) and said parallel line being in the said ex-
isting Anaheim City Limits line; thence,
6. N 89 35 1 00" U. 878.9 feet, more or less, along said line
parallel to south line of NW of Fractional Section 6 and also along said
existing Anaheim City Limits line to the point of beginning.

That such proposed annexation be designated as
"HOUSTON- MAGNOLIA ANNEXATION," and that notice of such pro
posed annexation be and the same is hereby given; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVEL that the 31st day of May
1955 at the hour of 7.tpO o'clock P .M.,
at he City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of An&,
heim, be and the sar..e is hereby fixed as the day, hour and place
when and where any person owning real property within said terri-
tory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the
proposed annexation, may appear before: the City Council of the
City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be
so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such pro-
posed annextion are hereby notified to appear on said day at said
hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory
should not be so annexed; and
BE IT FUa THE=M RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she i,
hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution
to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week,
in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to
wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California,
and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside
of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the
territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of
Anaheim, to wit: The Cypress Enterprise and that
such publication shall be completed at least twenty (20) days
prior to the date of hearing hereinabove specified.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed
to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll
available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the
address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and
the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either
legal or equitable, with said Clerk; and in the event that land
within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of
Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of
Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annex-
ation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County.
The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20)
days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
this 21st day of April 19 55
