A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETEiMINING THAT A
CHANGE OF ZONE IS NECESSARY IN CERTAIN AREAS
OF THE CITY AND THAT ARTICLE IX, CHAPTER 2
OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE SHOULD BE AMENDED
TO ACCOMPLISH SAID CHANGE OF ZONE.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim has heretofore duly passed and adopted a resolution de-
claring its intention to change the boundaries of the zone or
zones hereinafter mentioned and described and did fix a time and
place for the holding of a public hearing thereon in the manner
and as prescribed in Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim
Municipal Code, and did duly hold and conduct two public hearings
to consider such proposed change of zone or zones and did re-
ceive evidence and reports from persons interested therein; and
WHEREAS, within a period of forty (4E.0) days following
the final hearing thereon, the Planning Commission did duly
announce by formal resolution its findings of facts and declare
its opinions and reasons for recommending an amendment to said
Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code to effect
the proposed changes of the boundaries of the zone hereinafter
mentioned and described; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of the report and recommendation
of the City Planning Commission, the City Council did thereupon
fix the 22nd day of March 19 55 as the time
and the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim
as the place for a public hearing upon said proposed change of
zone and did give notice thereof in the manner and as provided
in said Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such public
hearing and did give all persons interested therein an opportu-
nity to be heard and did receive evidence and reports and did
thereupon consider the recommendations of the City Planning
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
the property and area proposed to be changed from the zone in
which it is now situated to a different zone as hereinafter set
forth, is more suitable for the zone or zones to which it is
proposed to change said property and area and that the inclusion
of said property and area in such new zone or zones will increase
the value of said property and area and will not depreciate the
values of property in adjoining zones,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that all of the property and area situated in
the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, de-
scribed as follows, to wit:
Eight acres, more or less, located at the Southwest corner
of Broadway and West Streets, bounded on the South by
Santa Ana Street, and on the West by State Highway Right
of -Way, and more particularly described as follows:

That portion of Lot 33 of Anaheim Extension, in the
City of xnahe m, County of Orange, State of California,
as shown on a map of survey made by Wm. Hamel and filed in
the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County,
California, a copy of which is recorded in Book 3,
Pages 163 et seq., entitled "Los Angeles County Maps,"
Records of said Orange County, described as follows:
Beginning at the center line intersection of Santa Ana
and West Streets (being, for the purposes of this de-
scription, the Southeast corner of said Lot 33); thence
North 152 West 12.70 chains; thence South 74i° West
10.35 chains to the center line of Walnut Street; thence
along the center of Walnut Street, South 13.13 chains;
thence North 742° East 13.70 chains to the point of begin-
ning,
EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion thereof lying Southerly
of the Northerly line of the 60 -foot strip -of land de-
scribed in the deed to the Southern Pacific Railroad
Company, recorded May 27, 1$99 in Book 42, Page 225 of
Deeds.
ALSO EXCEPTING therefrom that portion of said land in-
cluded in West Broadway.
ALSO EXCEPTING therefrom that portion conveyed to the State
of California by deed recorded March 3, 1943 in Book 1166,
Page 473, Official Records.

be changed from R -2, TWO FAMILY Rr,SIDEdTIAL, and R -A, RuSIDENTIAL-
AGRICUL' ZONES to the zones hereinafter designated, upon
the following conditions:
1. The filing of deed restrictions covering
the type of buildings to be erected on
the property, in which is incorporated
the provision that all plans and specifica-
tions for buildings shall be subject to
approval of an Architectural Committee, of
which one member shall be appointed by the
City Council as a representative of the
City of Anaheim.
2. That no entrances to garages be allowed
from the street; that is, all entrances
to garages must be from the alleys.
3. That subject property be reclassified to
R -3, MULTIPLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE,
with the exception of Lots 16, 17, 24, 25,
26, 27, 28 and 29, which shall be classified
R -1, SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be, and
he is hereby, authorized and directed to prepare and submit to
the City Council an amendment to Article IX, Chapter 2 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code to amend said Anaheim Municipal Code to
accomplish the object herein found and determined tc be neces-
sary and proper.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
this 5th day of April, 1955.
