RESOLUTION NO. 2 556 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY AS THE NORTE EUCLID ANNEXATION; DEARIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim dic, on the 9th day of Novgmber 19 54 receive a written petition asking that certain new territory described ia.. said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commissioi of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and certainty of the proposed boundaries; and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un- inhabited territory, and said petition contained a description. of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- received that at the time of the filing and receipt of sail petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one- fourth (4) of the area and not less than one fourth of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess ment rn11; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- ports received and from said petition that at the time of the fi,ling and presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un- inhahited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence arA reports received that the boundaries of the territory so proposed, to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to wit: A parcel of land including all of Lot 1 and a portion of Lot 2 as shown on a map thereof filed in Book 1 at Page 55, Records of Surveys, Records of Orange County, and also being a portion of Fractional Sections 4 and 5, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an angle point in the existing Anaheim City Limits Line as established by the Houston Avenue Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 32, passed by Ordinance No. 830 on January 13, 1953 and filed with the Secretary of State February 24, 1953, said point also being located in the easterly right -of -way line of Euclid Avenue (60 feet wide) 270 feet more or less northerly from the southerly right -of -way line of La Palma Avenue (60 feet wide) measured at right angles to said right -of -way line; thence, 1. Westerly along said existing Anaheim City Limits line to the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of Tract No. 483 as recorded in Book 17 at Page 20, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County; thence, 2. Northerly along said northerly prolongation of the westerly line of Tract No. 483 to the northerly line of the S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of Fractional Section 5, TLS, R10W, SBB&M; thence, 3. Easterly along said northerly line of the S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of Fractional Section 5, T R10W, SBB&M, to the westerly right -of -way line of said Euclid Avenue; thence, 4. Southerly along said westerly right -of -way line of Euclid Avenue to the westerly prolongation of the southerly right -of -way line of Romneya Drive (40 feet wide); thence, 5. Easterly along said westerly prolongation of the southerly right -of -way line of Romneya Drive to the south easterly right -of -way corner of said Romneya Drive and said Euclid Avenue, said point also being an angle point in the existing Anaheim City Limits Line as established by the Euclid Romneya Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 39 as passed by Ordinance No. 874 on December 22, 1953 and filed with the Secretary of State on. January 25, 1951j; thence, 6. Continuing easterly along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line and southerly right -of -way line of said Romneya Drive to an angle point in said existing Anaheim City Limits Line, said point also being the most northeasterly corner of Lot No. 1 of said Record of Survey; thence, 7. Southerly along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line and easterly line of Lots 1 and 2 of said Record of Survey to an angle point in said existing Anaheim City Limits Line, said point being located in the northerly line of the West La Palma Annexation to the City of Anaheim, Annexation No. 13, as passed by Ordinance No. 749 on October 11, 1949 and filed with the Secretary of State on November 16, 1949; thence, 8. Westerly along said existing Anaheim City Limits line and northerly line of said West La Palma Annexation to an angle point, said angle point being located in the said easterly right of -way line of Euclid Avenue; thence, 9. Southerly along said existing Anaheim City Limits Line and said easterly right -of -way line of Euclid Avenue and westerly line of said West La Palma Annexation to the point Of beginning. -2- THE CITY NCi1, IH�� EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED T- CITY O• 1 h1�� ry_11 OF �I� THE COUNCIL U..�L� ..i �J ANAT That such proposed annexation be designated as "N© Cr rD ANNE ATION_, and that notice of such pro posed annexation be and the same is hereby given; and BE IT FURTHER R SCLV D that the 14th day of December 19 5 at the hour of �jQ;Q� o'clock P. .L., at the City Council Cha mber in the City Hall of the City of Ant, heirs, be and the sar is hereby fixed as the clay, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within said terri- tory so rroposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear beforo the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why :ch territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having, any objections to such pro- posed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed; and BE IT F'..i,.THER RESO that the City Clerk be, and he i i rehy, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, -3- in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Ana- heim, to wit: The Cypress Enterprise That such publication shall be com?)leted at least twenty (20) clays prior to the date of hearing hereinabove specified. AND 3E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address sown on said assessment roll 'or as known to said City Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either legal -or equitable, with said Clerk: That in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
