A azsoLuTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEII'i FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT A CHANGE
OF ONE 13 NECESSARY IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE
CI`1.Y AND THAT ARTICLE IX, CHAPTER 2 OF THE ANA
HEIM MUNICIPAL °ODE SHOULD BE AMENDED TO
CC0iiPLISH OAID CHANGE OF ZONE.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim had heretofore duly passed and adopted a resolution de-
claring its intention to change the boundaries of the zone or
zones hereinafter mentioned and described and did fix a time and
place for the holding of a public hearing thereon in the manner
and as prescribed in Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Muni-
cipal Code, and did duly hold and conduct two public hearings to
consider such proposed change of zone or zones and did receive
evidence and reports from persons interested therein; and
WHEREAS, within a period of forty (IrO) days following
the final hearing thereon, the Planning Commission did duly
announce by formal resolution its findings of facts and declare
its opinions and reasons for recommending an amendment to said
Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code to effect the
proposed changes of the boundaries of the zone hereinafter r ::en-
t ionecl and described; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of the report and recommendation
of the City Planning Commission, the City Council did thereupon
fix the 13th day of July 19 5!j. as the time
and the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim
as the place for a public hearing upon said proposed change of
zone and did give notice thereof in the manner and as rrovided
in said Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such public
hearing and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity
to be heard and did receive evidence and reports and did thereupon
consider the recommendations of the City Planning Commission; and
JHEREA the City Council does find and determine that
the property and area proposed to be cnanged from the zone in which
it is now situated to a different zone as hereinafter set forth,
is more suitable for the zone or zones to which it is proposed to
charge said property and area and that the inclusion of said pro-
perty and area in ouch new zone or zones will increase the value
of said property and area and will not depreciate the values of
property in adjoining zones.
NOW, T_ E, 3E IT l GLVIED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that all of the property and area situated in
the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, cle-
scriTed as follows, to wit:
The northwest corner of Brookhurst Street and West La Palma
Avenue, more particularly described as follows:
That portion of the Southeast Quarter (SE*) of the Southeast
Quarter (SE4) of Section 6, Township L. South, Range 10 West,
in the Rancho Los Coyotes, City of Anaheim, County of Orange,
State of California, as shown on a map made by Chas. T.
Healey upon a survey by him about 1870 for the Stearns Rancho
Company, described as follows: Beginning at the southeast
corner of said Section 6; thence West 686 feet along the South
line of said Section 6; thence North 300 feet; thence East 686
feet parallel with the South line of said Section 6 to the
East line of said Section 6; thence South 300 feet to the point
of beginning. -1-
be changed from R -A, RESIDENTIAL- AGRICULTURAL ZONE, to the following
zones, upon the conditions hereinafter set forth:
That the easterly 275 feet along West La Palma Avenue be
classified as C -2, GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONE; and that the
balance to the west consisting of 411 feet, more or less,
be classified as C -1, NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL ZONE,
upon condition that
1. The applicants and owners of the property furnish the
City of Anaheim a statement to the effect that no
buildings will be erected on that portion of the prop-
erty proposed to be acquired by the California
Division of Highways.
2. That the owners of the property deed to the City of
Anaheim a 10-foot strip along Brookhurst Street to be
used for street widening purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be, and
he is hereby, authorized and directed to prepare and submit to
the City Council an amendment to Article IX, Chapter 2 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code to amend said Anaheim Municipal Code to
accomplish the object herein found and determined to be necessary
and proper.

AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of_the City of Anaheim
approved and signed said resolution on the 13tH day of July, 1954.
