WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, a city of the Sixth Class, in the County
of Orange, desires to repair West. La Palma ':.venue and West Santa Ana Street,
streets within the incorporated l ir.i is of the City of Anaheim, the nature e ar

H ghSray Users Tax Fund for aid. to cities in the improvement, construction or
repair of a street wlt} n ci_ty, provided that the Poard of Supervisors of
such County determine that the project is in the general. County interest; and
WHEREAS, the County of Or sane has allocated the sum of One Hundred
Fifty Thousand (150,000) Dollars of the County's apportionment of the California
Highway Users Tax Fimd for aid to the various cities within the county;

1. The rennir of West La Palma Avenue situated as designated. on
"Exhibit A" hereof.
The nature and extent of the project and. the estimated cost
thereof are Lrbstantia.11y as follows: The portion of hest La
Palma Avenue which i s in the worst state of disrepair is from 1 a
point 660 feet west of Yagnolia avenue to the west property line
of Gilbert Street and was improved many years ago with 2" oil
surface, the surface is now shattered and pitted and becoming
dangerous to traffic. It is proposed to regrade the area fu'-1
width between present curb lines and to resurface the area with
a 24 foot strin of 4" plant mix trnvelway. Width of improvement
to be 32 feet and length 330 feet involving an estimated cost
of '12,000.00 as follows:

The nature and extent of the project and the estimated cost
thereof are substantially as follows: The portion of :lest Santa
:'•na Street which is in the worst state of disrepair is from. Palm
Street to r anchester Avenue. The surface of this area is becom-
ing badly checked. and may not stand up through another rainy
season. It is proposed to apply a Class 0 Double Seal Coat to

BF IT FURTHER R7SOLED, that the 7oard of Supervisors of the County
of Orange be and is herehy requested to find. that the repair of West La. Palma
Avenue and West Santa Ana Ctrect in the manner aforesaid is in the general
county interest in that West, La Palma Avenue is a street of maThr importance
running from the adjacent unincorporated territory on the west to the heavy
industrial district of the city %rid also connecting to the Manchester Freeway
and that West Santa. Ana Street is also a street of major importance connecting
with Manchester Freeway on the west and Placentia Avenue (State Highway Route la0)
on the east and also qcreing an industrial area.

contingent upon an independent finding by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange that the purpose for which aid is hereby sought is in the
general county interest.
