1954-2376RESOLUTION NO. 2376
A RESOLUTION OF THE CI'T'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DIRECTING A CHANGE IN THE NAMES
OF CERTAIN STREETS IN TRACT NO. 1648 WITHIN
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, on the 15th day of March, 1951. the City
Planning Commission did duly pass and adopt its Resolution
No. 84, Series 1953-54, finding that the street names of
Leonora Street, Juniper Place, Poplar Street, Alberta Street
and Hemlock Place as recorded in Tract No. 1648 will result
in confusion, due to the fact that the same names have been
previously used in naming streets and recorded in Tract No.
1356, which tract is located directly to the North of Tract
No. 1648, and finding and determining that there are no
street connections between these two tracts; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that prior to
the adoption of said Resolution No. 84 the City Planning Com-
mission did duly hold and conduct a public hearing, notice
of which was duly given as required by law and the provisions
of the Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 9200 and following
said hearing did adopt said Resolution No. 84 finding and
recommending to the City Council of the City of Anaheim that
the names of said streets should be chan as follows:
an d
1. LEONORA STREET be changed to EASTWOOD DRIVE;
2. JUNIPER PLACE be changed to ELMWOOD STREET;
3. POPLAR STREET be changed to FERNWOOD STREET;
4. ALBERTA STREET be changed to GLENWOOD AVENUE;
5. HEMLOCK PLACE be changed to GLENWOOD PLACE;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that by reason of
the proximity of Tracts 1356 and 1648 there is a conflict
between the names of said streets, and that the existence of
streets of the same names in two different tracts situated
near each other, but having no direct connection, is con-
fusing to the public and will continue to be confusing and
misleading to the public by reason of the similarity of
names of such different streets located in different tracts;
and does further find that such streets are so situated that
they cannot be joined together as continuous streets; and
that by reason of the foregoing facts, public convenience and
necessity require that the names of said streets in said
Tract No. 1648 should be changed to avoid public confusion
and inconvenience.
.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the names of the streets in
Tract No. 1648 hereinabove mentioned be, and the same are
hereby, changed as follows:
-1-
1. LEONORA STREET be changed to EASTWOOD DRIVE;
2. JUNIPER PLACE be changed to ELMWOOD STREET;
3. POPLAR STREET be changed to FERNWOOD STREET;
4. ALBERTA STREET be changed to GLENWOOD AVENUE;
5. HEMLOCK PLACE be changed to GLENWOOD PLACE;
and that henceforth and hereafter such streets shall be known
and designated upon all maps by the names to which they are
hereby changed.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 23 day of March, 1 954.
