1954-2358RESOLUTION NO. 2358 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT SECTION 9200.14, SUBDIVISION A 2 SHOULD BE AMENDED AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION IN ITS RESOLU- TION NO. 50 SERIES 1953-54. WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim has heretofore duly passed and adopted its Resolution No. 50 Series 1953-54 recommending a revision in the Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 9200.14, Subdivision A 2, "Parking Requirements and WHEREAS, the City Council does find that prior to the adoption of said Resolution No. 50 Series 1953-54, the City Planning Commission did duly hold and conduct two public hearings at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on the 4th day of August and the 8th day of September, 1952, notices of which were duly given as required by law and the provisions of the Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 9200; and WHEREAS, said Planning Commission after due con- sideration did find and determine that a revision of Section 9200.14, Subdivision A 2, "Parking Requirements," is neces- sary, and did duly announce by formal resolution its findings of facts and declare its opinions and reasons for recommend- ing an amendment to said section of said Anaheim Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, upon receipt of the report and recommenda- tion of the City Planning Commission, the City Council did thereupon fix the 9th day of March,1954 as the time and the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim as the place for a public hearing upon said proposed amendment or change in the Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 9200.14, "General Provisions and Exceptions," Subdivision A 2, and did give notice thereof in the manner as provided in said Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 9200; and WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public hearing the City Council did duly hold and conduct such public hearing and did give all persons interested therein an oppor- tunity to be heard, and did receive evidence and reports and did thereupon consider the recommendations of the City Plan- ning Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that a change or amendment should be made in the Anaheim Municipal Code, Section 9200.14, Subdivision A 2, to make it more adequate and definite; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that Section 9200.14, "General Pro- visions and Exceptions," Subdivision A 2, "Parking Require- ments," be amended to read as follows: -1- SECTION 9200.14 GENERAL PROVISIONS AND EXCEPTIONS A USE: 2. PARKING REQUIREMENTS. a. AREA: Every main building hereafter erected or structurally altered, shall be provided with minimum off- street parking accommodations (See Section 9200.10 for exceptions on Los Angeles Street and Center Street) as follows: (1) For dwellings, there shall be at least one parking space on the same site with the main building for each dwelling unit and such parking space shall not be less than ten (10) feet wide by twenty (20) feet long with adequate provisions for ingress and egress, and such parking area must not extend in front of the building set -back line. (2) For buildings other than dwellings, there shall be parking spaces ten (10) feet wide by twenty (20) feet long on the same lot with the main building or con- tiguous thereto or within a reasonable distance of the subject property in accordance with the following requirements: a. Retail Stores, Offices (other than specified below) and Restaurants. Under 2000 Sq. Ft. 1 Space per 250 sq. ft. gross floor space. 2001 20,000 Sq.Ft. 1 Space per 200 sq. ft. gross floor space. b. Ice Cream Stands. 2 Spaces per each 50 sq. ft. of gross floor space in building. c. Drive -In Restaurants. 3 Spaces per each 50 sq. ft. of gross floor space in building. d. Medical and Dental Offices. 3 Spaces per each doctor's office. e. Churches, Places of Assembly, High Schools, Colleges and Universities. 1 Space per each ten (10) seats. f. Hotels and Clubs. 1 Space per each three (3) guest rooms. g. Theaters. 1 Space per each five (5) seats. Over 20,000 Sq.Ft. 1 Space per 150 sq. ft, gross floor space. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to prepare and submit to the City Council an amendment to Section 9200.14, Subdivision A 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code to amend said Anaheim Municipal Code to accomplish the object herein found and de- termined to be necessary and proper, THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me this 9th day of March, 1954.
