A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION
FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING
THE TERRITORY AS THE

ANNEXATION; DETARIBING TBE BOUNDARIES OF THE
TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND
WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY
APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE
WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did
on the 9th day of February 19 54 receive a
written petition asking that certain new territory described in
said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro
posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commission
of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon
by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and
certainty of the proposed boundaries; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said
City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of
California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un-
inhabited territory, and said petition contained a description
of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this
Resolution described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
1)orts received that at the time of the filing and receipt of sai4
petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one-
fourth (g) of the area and not less than one-fourth (4) of the
assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be
annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess-
ment roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
torts received and from said petition that at the time of the
filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory
proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a
part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un-
inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows,
to wit:
A parcel of land being a portion of the S 1/2 of Section
8, Township 4 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and
Meridian and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a 2 -inch iron pipe located in the existing
westerly Anaheim City Limits Line and the southwesterly right
of -way line of the Southern Pacific Company as shown on a map
in Records of Survey, Book 24, at Page 7 and filed in the
Recorders Office, Orange County, California; thence
1. S. 0 08' 36" E. 1124.43 feet, along the said existing
westerly Anaheim City Limits Line and Westerly line of said
Record of Survey to a 2 -inch iron pipe; thence
2. Westerly 330 feet, more or less, along a line parallel
to the northerly right -of -way line of Lincoln Avenue (60 feet
wide) and 629.00 feet, more or less, northerly therefrom measured
along a line bearing S. 0° 08' 36" E. to the westerly line of
that 14.25 acre parcel of land owned by Marjorie H. Cook;
recorded in Book 1120, Page 180 of Official Records of Orange
County, California Nov. 18, 1941; thence,
3. Southerly 629 feet, more or less, along said westerly
line of 14.25 acre parcel to the said northerly right -of -way
line of Lincoln Avenue; thence,
4. Westerly 1310 feet, more or less, along the said
northerly right -of -way line of Lincoln Avenue to the southwest
corner of that 9.50 acre parcel of land owned by Bessie G.
Omelia; recorded Nov. 21, 1918, Book 313, Page 101 of Deed
Records of Orange County; thence,
5. Northerly 1290 feet, more or less, along the westerly
line of said 9.50 acre parcel to a point in the northerly line
of the S. 1/4 of Section 6, T4S, R1OW, SBBM, said line also
being shown on a map in Records of Survey, Book 10 at Page 1
and filed in the Recorder's Office, Orange County, California;
thence,
6. Westerly 20 feet, more or less, along said northerly
line of S. 1/4 of Section 8, T4S, R1OW, SBBM to the most
southeasterly corner of that 10.00 acre parcel of land owned
by Ada M. and R. R. Robertson; recorded May 3, 1912 in Book
2.11, Page 1111 of Deed Records of Orange County; thence,
7. Northerly 1300 feet, more or less, along the easterly
line of said 10.00 acre parcel to the southerly right -of -way
line of Crescent Avenue, 40 feet wide; thence,
8. Easterly 330 feet, more or less, along the said
southerly right -of -way line of Crescent Avenue to the said
southwesterly right -of -way line of the Southern Pacific Co.;
thence
9. Southeasterly 1580 feet, more or less, along the said
southwesterly right -of -way line of the Southern Pacific Co. to
the point of beginning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY CF ANAHEII:
That such proposed annexation be designated as
"LINCOLN AVENUE ANNEXATION" and that notice of such pro-
posed annexation be and the same is hereby given; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 12th day of March
19 54 at the hour of 10 00 o'clock A .M.,
at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Ana
heim, be and the same is hereby fixed as the day, hour and place
when and where any person owning real property within said terri-
tory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the
proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the
City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be
so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such pro-
posed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day at said
hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory
should not be so annexed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is
hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution
to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week,
in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to
wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California,
and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside
of the City, but in the County of Orange, in.which is located the
territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Ana-
heim, to wit: The Placentia Courier That such
publication shall be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to
the date of hearing hereinabove specified.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, :authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to
each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll
available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the
address snown.on said assessment roll or as known to said City
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and
the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either
legal or equitable, with said Clerk: That in the event that land
within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim
is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall
also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed
to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notices
shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first
public hearing on the proposed annexation.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
