A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEII'i FINDING AND DETERMINING T}AT A CHANGE
OF 'ZONE IS NECESSARY IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE
CITY AND THAT ARTICLE IX, CHAPTER 2 OF THE ANA
HEIM MUNICIPAL CODE SHOULD BE AifiENDED TO
ACCO1iPLISH +:,AID CHANGE OF ZONE.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim had heretofore duly passed and adopted a resolution de-
claring its intention to change the boundaries of the zone or
zones hereinafter mentioned and described and did fix a time and
place for the holding of a public hearing thereon in the manner
and as prescribed in Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Muni-
cipal Code, and did duly hold and conduct two public hearings to
consider such proposed change of zone or zones and did receive
evidence and reports from persons interested therein; and
WHEREAS, within a period of forty (40) days following
the final hearing thereon, the Planning Commission did duly
announce by formal resolution its findings of facts and declare
its opinions and reasons for recommending an amendment to said
Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code to effect the
proposed changes of the boundaries of the zone hereinafter men-
tioned and described; and
WHEREAS, upon receipt of the report and recommendation
of the City Planning Commission, the City Council did thereupon
fix the 24th day of November 1953 as the time
and the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim
as the place for a public hearing upon said proposed change of
zone and did give notice thereof in the manner and as provided
in said Article IX, Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Council dicl duly hold and conduct such public
hearing and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity
to be heard and did receive evidence and reports and did thereupon
consider the recommendations of the City Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find and determine that
the property and urea proposed to be changed from the zone in which
it is now situated to a different zone as hereinafter set forth,
is more suitable for the zone or zones to which it is proposed to
change said property and area and that the inclusion of said pro-
perty and area in such new zone or zones will increase the value
of said property and area and will not depreciate the values of
property in adjoining zones.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that all of the property and area situated in
the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, de-
scribed as follows, to wit:
A tract of land being a portion of the NW 1/4 of the
NW 1/4 of Section 9 described as beginning at a point
on the northerly pity limit line, said point also being
the southeast corner of the intersection of West La
Palma Avenue and Euolid Avenue; thenoe Easterly along
the existing city limit line and the south property
line of said West La Palma Avenue a distance of 1290
feet, more or less, to a point, said point being on the
easterly line of the west half of the NW 1/4 of Section
9, T-4-S, R -10-W, S.B.B. M.; thence southerly along

be changed from its present classification of R -4 by Orange
County, to, and incorporated in, the following zones:
That portion of the area described above starting at
a point easterly from the center line of Euclid Avenue
and extending easterly along the southerly right -of-
way line of West La Palma Avenue a distance of 400
feet, more or less; thence at a right angle to the
southerly right-of-way line of West La Palma Avenue
a distance of 550 feet, more or less; thence westerly
to the easterly right -of -may line of Euclid Avenue
a distance of 400 feet; thence Northerly along the
easterly right of way line of Euclid Avenue a dis-
tance of 550 feet, more ar less, to the point of
beginning, be zoned as 0-1, NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL
Z0NC and the balance of the property included in
the above description be zoned as R -A, RESIDENTIAL
AGRICULTURAL ZONE,
upon the following conditions:
1. That the above changes are to become effective
upon completion of annexation of the area
above described to the City of Anaheim.
2. That the owners of said property deed to the
City of Anaheim a strip of land 20 feet in
width along West La Palma Avenue and a strip
of land 10 feet in width along Euclid Avenue
for future widening of these avenues.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be,
and he is hereby, authorized and directed to prepare and
submit to the City Council an amendment to Article IX,
Chapter 2 of the Anaheim Municipal Code to amend said Anaheim
Municipal Code to accomplish the object herein found and de-
termined to be necessary and proper.
TEE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 24th day of November, 1953.
