A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION
FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING
THE TERRITORY AS THE
EUCLID_,- ROMNEYA
ANNEXATION; DE::CRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND
WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY
APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE
t'THY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TO
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did
on the lOth day of November 19 53 receive a
written petition asking that certain new territory described in
said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro
posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described
to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commission
of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon
by said Boundary Commission with respect to the definiteness and
certainty of the proposed boundaries; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said
City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of
California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un-
inhabited territory, and said petition contained a description
of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this
Resolution described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
ports received that at the time of the filing and receipt of sai4
petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one-
fourth 4) of the area and not less than one-fourth 4) of the
assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be
annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess-
ment roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re-
ports received and from said petition that at the time of the
filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory
proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a
part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un-
inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows,
to wit:
A tract of land being a portion of the SW 1/4 of Fractional
Section 4, T4S, R1OW, SBB M, and more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
Beginning at a point on the northerly City Limit Line of the
City of Anaheim, said point being 844 feet more or less
easterly from the center line of Euclid Avenue, said point
also being the intersection of the southerly property line
of Romneya Drive and the westerly line of Lot 3, as shown on
a Map thereof filed in Book 1, Page 55, Records of Surveys,
Records of Orange County; thence easterly along the present
City Limits Line and the said southerly property line of
Romneya Drive a distance of 917 feet, more or less, to a
point of intersection with the easterly line of Lot 4 of
said Record of Survey filed in Book 1, Page 55, Records of
Orange County; thence northerly a distance of 40.0 feet
measured at right angles to the said southerly property
line of Romneya Drive to the northerly property line of said
Romneya Drive; thence easterly along the said northerly
property line of Romneya Drive a distance of 660 more or
less, to the east line of the west 33,50 acres of the NE 1/4
of the SW 1/4 Section 4, T4S, R1OW, SBB M. Described in
Decree of Distribution, Instrument No. 13366 -40, Recorded in
Bk. 1045, Page 333, Records of Orange County, California;
thence northerly along the easterly line of the said west
33.50 acres to an intersection with the east and west center
line of said Section 4; thence westerly along the said
center line of Section 4 to a point of intersection with
the easterly property line of Euclid Avenue; thence southerly
along the said easterly property line of Euclid Avenue a
distance of 1338 feet, more or less, to the southeast corner
of the intersection of said easterly line of Euclid Avenue
and the southerly property lin e of Romneya Drive; thence
easterly along the said southerly property'line of Romneya
Drive a distance of 814 feet, more or less, to the point
of beginning,
in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to
wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California,
and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside
of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the
territory hereinabove proposer: to be annexed to the City of Ana-
heim, to wit: The Placentia Courier That such
publication shall be com at least twenty (20) days prior to
the date of hearing hereinabove specified.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to
each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll
available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the
address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and
the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either
legal or equitable, with said Clerk: That in the event that land
within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim
is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall
also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed
to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notices
shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first
public hearing on the proposed annexation.
ThE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by me
this 10th day of November 19. 53

hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted at a
Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Anaheim, held on the
10th day of November, 1953, by the following vote of the members thereof:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Pearson, Wisser, Heying and Van Wagoner.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Boney.
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of Anaheim approved
and signed said resolution on the 10th day of November, 1 953.
