A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING ROUTE NO. 1 ALONG LA PALMA
AVENUE AS SET OUT IN THE REPORT OF HARRISON AND
WOOLLEY, CONSULTING ENGINEERS, FOR ROUTE OF
CARBON CANYON RELIEF CHANNEL THROUGH THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM, AND REQUESTING IMMEDIATE PREPARA-
TIONS OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, Harrison and Woolley, Consulting Engineers,
of Santa Ana, California, were employed to make a study of
flood hazards in Carbon Canyon and the City of Anaheim, and
to prepare and submit a preliminary report of a plan for the
control of flood waters through the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, said Consulting Engineers have completed
said studies and have prepared and submitted said preliminary
report to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange;
and
WHEREAS, said Consulting Engineers have reported
that Route No. 1 along La Palma Avenue, as set forth in said
preliminary report, appears to be the most advantageous loca-
tion for the construction of a Carbon Canyon relief channel
for the control of flood waters through the City of Anaheim;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Orange County
has approved said Route No. 1 as set forth in said Engineers'
preliminary report and has requested the City of Anaheim to
approve the same; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that said Route
No. 1 as set forth in said Engineers' preliminary report is
the most advantageous route for the construction of a flood
control channel through the City of Anaheim, and that such a
channel should be constructed immediately to eliminate hazards
from the flood waters in the City of Anaheim from Carbon
Canyon;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM that the preliminary report on the oon-
trol of flood waters through the City of Anaheim, prepared by
Harrison and Woolley, Consulting T;ngineers of Santa Ana,
California, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Route No. 1 along
La Palma Avenue be, and the same is hereby, approved as the
location for the construction of a Carbon Canyon relief ohan-
nel for the control of flood waters through the City of
Anaheim; and that the Board of Supervisors of Orange County
be, and they are hereby, requested to proceed immediately
with the preparation of detailed plans and specifications for
the construction of a Oarbon Oanyon relief channel through the
City of Anaheim, designated as "Route No. 1" in the Engineers'
preliminary report on a plan for the control of flood waters
through the City of Anaheim, prepared by Harrison and Woolley,
Consulting Engineers; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
he is hereby, authorized and direoted to certify and cause
to be delivered to the Board of Supervisors a copy of this
Resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is signed and approved by
me this 27th day of October, 1953.
