RESOLUTION NO. 225 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY AS THE JUQID -14 __PALUA ANNEXATION; DETLCRIBING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PEF SON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED TC THE CITY OF ANAHEIM; AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2243. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the 21st day of September 19 53 receive a written petition asking that certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the pro posal for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Commission of the County of Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary Commission with respect to the def initenese and certainty of the proposed boundaries; and WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California, and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is un- inhabited territory, and said petition contained a description of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution described; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- ports received that at the time of the filing and reoeipt of saiu petition, it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one- fourth (e) of the area and not less than one fourth e) of the assessed valuation of the land in such territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preceding equalized county assess- ment roll; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidence and re- r-orts received and from said petition that at the time of the filing and presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal corporation and that said territory was un- inhabited and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and evidence and reports received that the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows, to wit: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIL: That such proposed annexation be designated as RTiCLT T PJT.MA fiNN CAPTQN and that notice of such pro- posed annexation be and the same is hereby given; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Z9th day of October 19 53 at the hour of q in© o'clock p .M.,, at the City Council Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Ana heim, be and the same is hereby fixed as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real property within said terri- tory so proposed to be annexed, and having any objections to the proposed annexation, may appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; that all persons having any objections to such pro- posed annexation are hereby notified to appear on said day at said hour and place to show cause, if any they have, why such territory should not be so annexed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, A tract of land being a portion of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 9, T4S, R1OW, SBB M and more par- ticularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the northerly city limit line, said point also being the southeast corner of the inter- section of La Palma Avenue and Euclid Avenue; thence easterly along the existing city limit line and the south property line of said La Palma Avenue a distance of 1290 feet, more or less, to a point, said point being on the easterly line of the west half of the northwest 1/4 of Section 9, T4S, R1OW, SBB M; thence southerly along the existipg city limit line and the said easterly line of the W 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of Section 9, T4S, R1OW, SBB M, a distance of 550 feet, more or less; thence westerly along a line parallel to the south property line of said La Palma Avenue a distance of 1290 feet, more or less to a point, on the easterly property line of Euclid Avenue; thence northerly along the said easterly line of Euclid Avenue a distance of 550 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. -2-. in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation, published outside of the City, but in the County of Orange, in which is located the territory hereinabove proposed to be annexed to the City of Ana- heim, to wit: PlenAntie ConniAr That such publication shall be com"leted at least twenty (20) clays prior to the date of hearing hereinabove specified. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available, on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk: That in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County. The foregoing notices shall be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. RESOLUTION NO. 2243 is hereby rescinded.
